Description

However, it’s actually pretty fun. The characters are unlikeable—some annoying, others twisted, all of them have secrets. It might not seem like it, but they’re easy to differentiate once you catch on to how their stories intertwine and each of them has a solid motive to be the killer. Once again, Lucy writes an amazing setting! The island itself is by far another character. It’s beautiful but dangerous with especially rough waters. The island is only two miles from one end to the other and is described as longer than wide. And the only way to get the island is from a private boat. The island adds to the mystery setting especially when it comes to the eventual murder. Let’s first start with Jules. Why was she so eager to marry Will despite not knowing him for very long? Why did you think she chose to ignore the letter that said not to marry him?

I loved and adored the setting and various atmospheric elements. The characters felt well fleshed out and the plot was intriguing throughout. I definitely recommend it!!

First the synopsis

We'll add publisher questions if and when they're available; in the meantime, please use our GENERIC MYSTERY QUESTIONS to start a discussion for THE GUEST LIST … then take off on your own: Barbeito, Camila (27 October 2020). "The Guest List by Lucy Foley". Popsugar . Retrieved 27 December 2021. These are all the characters we follow so quite a lot! I have to say, I did not love the big focus on the boarding school men (there’s more of them in the story; we just don’t read their perspectives). I just didn’t think those guys were very intriguing. There is a reason we follow Johnno’s perspective throughout but some of his actions just didn’t make sense and not in a “suspicious way” but in a head scratcher move from the author. If you’ve read the story, message me and I’ll tell you what I mean.

Personally I think Olivia’s “secret” is a little flimsy. I know she’s only 19 yo and has gone through quite an ordeal, but it annoyed me that she didn’t just grow the hell up and tell her sister about Will. I never tried online dating, but what’s wrong with doing it using fake identities? I thought people do that to fool around or for safety measures.Best man Johnno, seems confused what he’s doing about his life, sharing a really big secret with Will from their high school times, giving him nightmares and making him fell like chasing by the past time ghosts. And he learns something crucial to change his life forever and gives him a motive to do something dangerous…
