Power Mauls are Strength +3. Potentially one of the real sleeper hits (pun intended) of the melee weapons update, power mauls suddenly making S7 Terminators (albeit for 5 points a pop) is a pretty tasty proposition. The perpetual curse here is being a 1 damage weapon, which significantly hurts them, but if you’re running Creations of Bile taking your Terminators to S8 gets them over an important threshold that may compensate for that. Another weapon that is suddenly worth a second look. Specific tech in the list helps deal with mortal wounds and daemons that this list would have challenges handling by providing a Feel No Pain against mortals (Soulwarden) and against daemons you have 3 infiltrator squads who can disrupt their coming onto the field from reserves.

Tzaangor Shaman [4 PL, -1CP, 2 Cabal Points, 60pts]: 2. Seeker After Shadows, 33. Perplex, Stratagem: Warlord Trait, Warlord Noah Beddome – Imperial Knights: The more aggro version of the Taranis buff setup, using an Errant as the Calculated Targeting delivery method so that you also have access to Advance/Charge for Warglaives. Spartan • Fellblade • Typhon • Cerberus • Falchion • Mastodon • Lord of Skulls • Death Wheel • Plaguereaper • Plague CenturionThe rider is usually also equipped with a Bolt Pistol and a Chainsword, and can optionally make use of Flamers, Grav-Guns, Meltaguns, and Plasma Guns. Neurothrope [5 PL, 100pts]: Power: Catalyst, Power: Onslaught, Power: Smite, Power: Synaptic Lure, Warlord Trait: Direct Guidance

There’s nothing new in War of the Spider for Death Guard, so the big changes are all for weapons. These have already been detailed above. None of the Death Guard’s special plague weapons have changed, only their weapons that are available cross-codex. Note that Death Guard did not receive Astartes Chainswords, so if you take a Chaos Lord or other character that comes with a chainsword, note that they’ll get the shitty version that does not confer AP-1. As far as I can tell, that’s the only place this would matter. The big winner in all this is the Myphitic Blight-Hauler, which now gets two multi-melta shots at no additional cost, making them significantly more effective. Hell yeah!Obliterators - 270 pts (Shoot down enemy tanks, transports and clear any bubble wrap units. 3rd Secondary) Scrambled Coordinates (Start of enemy reinforcements, no enemy can set up within 12" of 2 core units. AKA. Legionaries & Raptors.)

Primaris Chaplain on Bike [8 PL, -2CP, 150pts]: 4. Mantra of Strength, 6. Canticle of Hate (Aura), Benediction of Fury, Chapter Command: Master of Sanctity, Litany of Hate, Stratagem: Hero of the Chapter, Stratagem: Relic, The Imperium’s Sword Hekaton Land Fortresses are good, especially when you can give them +1 to hit, negate a failed save and repair 4 wounds taken (oh and they’re T8 have 2+ save, 4+ invulnerable save, armour of contempt, and you can’t re-roll wound rolls against them). The Forge-Master provides repairs, can negate a failed save and give +1 to hit thanks to his upgrade and warlord trait (Master Armourer). Oh, and they have tremendous output at range thanks to the Ymyr stratagem and the generic Core-buster stratagem. This is definitely a game where the Necrons are happy with a six objective Hold 2/3 mission, as on a different map I think the Knights could cause them problems. Warglaives with -1D are pretty challenging for Skorpekh to clear out, two of the C’tan powers are useless in the matchup, taxing CP early and meaning they take time to come online, and the Silent King pretty much has to hide till one part of the mortal wound nightmare combo is spent, as he might just get instakilled otherwise. All good upsides, but on this mission the Necrons can just pull the Knights in too many Otherwise, these changes aren’t much of consideration for Death Guard, who tended to lean heavily on other options. There’s some consideration to be made for combi-meltas and power fists now, which have a more reliable damage output, and bubotic axes and baleswords now look a spot worse next to the power weapon cousins. The Necrons normal plan of playing cagey and maxing Secondaries using small units like the Scarabs is going to be tough here as well, because as soon as the Custodes are in position, they flat can’t. They do not have that many units, and the Custodes have a bumper crop of Troops that count as two models each, so the Scarabs just get bounced. The Skorpekh are a much more real prospect, but as I know from painful experience they can bounce off Custodes, and there’s plenty of stuff in the Custodes list to reliable roll them up. Also, the two Dreadnoughts are a big problem for them, as without a second D3 weapon in the Skorpekh squads they’ll absolutely bounce them without Szarekh’s aura. Challenging stuff. Force weapons have changed. Mirroring the changes to power weapons, Force swords are now S+1 (and very usable), Force axes are now S+2, and Force Staves are S+3. This makes Force Staves even better, though now Force swords look pretty tasty as well. Force axes less so. Cory Russell – Chaos Space Marines: Word Bearers with various small hulls, some very tooled-up Characters and an honest to the dark gods Land Raider. Chaos Space Marine Bikers usually operate in squads of up to ten, which can include a Biker Champion. Chaos Assault Bikes are armed with similar weaponry to that of the standard Imperial Assault Bike, which includes a set of twin-linked Bolters located on the bike's handlebars. Chaos Assault Bikes can also be armed with sets of twin-linked Flamers, Meltaguns, and even Plasma Guns in place of their standard Bolters.
