Ava is now running a scheme in which she imports near perfect replicas of luxury handbags to the US. Both are both books which start with well-educated women who leave the workforce to parent and become less than desirable beings as they struggle with the dissonance of having a developed brain and being expected to easily adapt to the brainless work of early stage child-rearing (they try to make it an intellectual pursuit, but its not.

It is the story of two ladies of Chinese ethnicity who try to fool Americans with fake luxury goods. I read mainly Mysteries and Thrillers, with over half of my reads being Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) directly from the publisher/author. It takes me 2–3 drafts to get a handle on the story, and at that point, I put together an outline that consists of one sentence summing up the heart of each chapter. In fact I was pleasantly surprised by how detailed the book was, how much story and explanation we got.

Her husband is a doctor, and has recently taken a new job, staying in an apartment near the hospital on weekdays, leaving her even more alone.

It was absolutely addictive from the start, and the use of the framing device and teetering characterizations of Ava and Winnie delighted me and gave me whiplash. They will just manufacture the handle of the luxury bags in Italy, make the rest in China, and put made in Italy over their products. in " The BookBrowse Review" - BookBrowse's membership magazine, and in our weekly " Publishing This Week" newsletter. Those scenes might be a little bit difficult for a new mother, considering they were difficult for me (not at all a mother).
