Add the rafters and the top battens. The rafters will fit into the notches in the beams and the battens will fit into the notches on top of the rafters. The incredibly well designed, built-in drainage system prevents you from having to open the louvred roof as any excess water that lands on the louvres flow into u shaped channels. Any excess rainwater will flow from the roof into the framework of the pergola. Then by following the plans below, mark the cut-out (notch) area across the beams/rafters. The plan drawings below give the measurement to the first notch. That will be the same at both ends. All the intermediate notches will be spread evenly apart. This well engineered contemporary pergola requires 2-3 people to assemble and should be completed in approximately 2-3 hours. We recommend mounting the Pergola onto a solid and flat surface.
