Creme de Mure is a french blackberry liqueur that is vibrant in color, sweet and tart in taste and full of flavor.

Following the development of the blanc cassis aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis), the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and marcs de Bourgogne. All the Briottet range have proper 'real' fruit flavour integrity - they taste like the fruit itself, not some confected approximation. Giffard began during the summer of 1885, when Émile Giffard (a dispensing chemist) took an interest in the digestive and refreshing properties of mint. Their rich aroma make them very versatile and they can be drunk neat, over ice, in cocktails or poured on ice creams, pastries etc. So even if you think you've moved past your reputation as The Rebel, two minutes after getting together with your more demure sister, you're likely to fall back into that hell-raiser role.

An olfactory sweetness faithful to the tasting is also very sweet but harmoniously balanced by a touch of acidity, typical of blackberries. It is made through a combination of specially selected white peach varieties, cream and neutral alcohol and the end result is bursting with peach flavour and juicy freshness.

Given the growing popularity of the "white wine-cassis" aperitif, Edmond Briottet little by little stopped operating as a wine trader and instead switched over gradually to producing Crème de Cassis. It’s a wonderful flavour which brings together the essence of the blackberry and primes it perfectly to match with fine champagnes, dry white wines and any number of white spirit cocktails which need an extra kick. This deep purple liqueur presents luxurious fruit aromas that show both the sweet and the dry, or tart, side of the blackberry. Emile Giffard was a Pharmasist in the Loire Valley, and in 1855 he invented a mint liqueur that people absolutely adored so he changed his Pharmacy into Distillery. There’s a jammy texture to this drink which is sweet on the tongue and the light syrupy flavour marries wonderfully with almond notes and even essence of the bitter peach stone.Used in naturopathy and sometimes as a tincture, the blackberry is widely used in food, jam, jelly or dessert. Luxardo Passione Nera is aromatised with liquorice and maintains the sharp anise flavour of regular Sambuca, familiar to fans of the classic drink.
