Orcas have a bad reputation for being fearsome hunters but one man is on a mission to show that the large apex predators have a soft side.
Jacques de Vos, an underwater photographer who is based out of Norway, freedives with killer whales on a regular basis in a bid to capture them in action.
His stunning images show the giant creatures gliding through the frosty waters as they hunt for fish or swim as part of a pod.
He told MailOnline Travel that he has never had any bad incidents with orcas and he considers them to be 'intelligent, sentient and powerful' creatures.
