Our keen-eared reviewers listen to a huge variety of musical genres from a range of sources during testing, including Spotify, Tidal and locally stored audio files. We’ll also put earbuds through their paces across whichever Bluetooth codecs they support using a compatible device and feed them high-resolution content if they have Hi-res capabilities. Many users say that the FAMOO U-Air wireless earbuds fit very nicely and snugly in their ears and also seal off their ears quite efficiently. Furthermore, they are very comfortable to wear even for several hours to listen to music. Since our review, a firmware update sees the QuietComfort Earbuds 2 now support aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless Sound quality is highly impressive, too. The Fit Pro have a weightier bass response than their stablemates the Studio Buds and there’s less harshness in the treble frequencies. Like most Beats headphones, the Fit Pro play particularly nicely with Apple devices. They house the company’s H1 chip and this enables a range of useful features, including shared listening with other Beats users, hands-free Siri and full spatial audio support. It’s amazing what the best wireless earbuds are capable of thanks to advancements in Bluetooth, noise-cancelling, microphone and audio driver technology.

Codecs determine how Bluetooth transmits information to your device. The SBC codec is pretty much universal across all devices and works just fine, though you’ll open up the possibility to listen to higher resolution audio with more advanced codecs such as AAC, which is favoured by Apple, or Qualcomm’s aptX, aptX HD or aptX Adaptive codecs. Bear in mind that your output device must also support the codec: iPhones don’t support aptX so even if you own the very best wireless earbuds money can buy, you won’t be able to make use of it. Can I make and receive phone and video calls? Designed for iPhone owners looking for a more tailored listening experience, we think the AirPods Pro 2 are the pinnacle of Apple technology. While testing them out for all kinds of active lifestyle activities, we found that the fit had been improved to the point where they're a viable option for the best sports headphones, and suitable for runners and gym workouts alike. Not only are the earbuds IPX4-rated for protection from sweat and light showers, but now too is the case itself. As the market’s best noise-cancelling earbuds overall, Bose’s newest flagship introduced several upgrades such as adaptiveactive noise cancellation(ANC), Bluetooth 5.3, and sound calibration technology for improved sound quality. In our review, we loved the fact that Bose has made the new version one-third smaller than the originalQuietComfort Earbuds, while also developing new ear-tips to help achieve optimal wear for more users. A significant proportion of buds now favour the use of silicone tips, which seal off your ear canals and secure the buds in your ears far better. They also have the advantage of providing improved passive noise cancellation. Manufacturers typically provide a range of different-sized tips to help ensure you get the most comfortable and stable fit possible. The next-gen buds build on traditional Bose hallmarks, but we feel battery life, special features, and touch controls could be bettered at the price. Despite these shortcomings, though, we found their ANC and sound quality performance carry the QuietComfort Earbuds 2 to the top echelon of ourbest wireless earbudslist. This next-gen flagship model are highly recommended for anyone seeking the ultimate ANC experience from a pair of earbuds.

The best wireless earbuds to buy in 2023

If you want don’t want your ear canals filled while listening to music, the Apple AirPods 3 are simply the best wireless earbuds around, particularly if you own an iPhone. Despite being significantly cheaper than Sony’s flagship WF-1000XM5, the WF-C700N offer a lot of the same functionality. Crucially, they support Adaptive Sound Control via the Sony Headphones Connect app, which lets you manually adjust the active noise cancellation settings or have the buds adjust it automatically depending on where you are and what you’re doing. Though they can’t be described as class-leading in any one area, these uniquely versatile wireless earbuds more than justify their asking price. With ANC on you’re looking at roughly four and a half hours of in-ear battery life, which is below average, but despite this, the FreeBuds Pro 2 remain a great-sounding choice with plenty of well-implemented features. As I said before, the FAMOO U-Air is designed for sports or working out. They utilize IPX8, which is the highest waterproof rating for now. No matter, whether you have a lot of sweat when long-running or intensive working out, these wireless earbuds are also can survive. A lot of sweat still can’t damage them. However, there is no mention of wearing them for swimming. I suggest you don’t wear it to swimming. FAMOO U-Air Wireless Earbuds – The Sound Quality

Their ability in the latter department is aided by the inclusion of active noise cancellation, of which there are six levels, an IPX4 rating certifies them water resistant and a fleshed-out companion app lets you customise your experience to a pleasing degree. On the audio front, the Tune Flex offer a warm, engaging sound signature that lends itself well to mainstream pop music, while call quality is another of their strong suits. Beyond their hardy credentials, they offer excellent noise cancellation, solid sound quality (including support for Dolby Atmos Spatial audio), extensive battery life and one of the most comfortable fits around. Microphone clarity and a charging time of four hours are underwhelming but by striking a fine balance between robustness and performance, the Elite 8 Active aren’t only an appealing option for those living a lifestyle, but cater to more sedentary types as well. During the testing phase, our reviewers wear each pair of headphones for several hours at a time throughout the course of a week. Reviewers will make a note of the battery life performance in real world use, and assess how well this matches the rated battery life provided by earbud makers. The company claims that the FAMOO U-Air wireless earbuds can provide up to 6 hours for a single charge earbuds, and a total playtime is about 42 hours including the charging case. But I still haven’t heard any users complaining that the playtime is less than 5 hours. I think the company is not exaggerating. However, all in all, the playtime varies depending on the volume level that you use. That means if you listen to music with the maximum volume at all times, the FAMOO U-Air wireless earbuds should give playtime that is less than 5 hours. I won’t describe the details of all highs, mids, and lows. But overall it sounds pretty decent. The bass is pretty solid. The mids are well-detailed and the highs are not so sharp until piercing the eardrums.

Our pick of the best wireless earbuds available for every budget

Better noise cancellation can be found elsewhere, and some may find the fit a bit fiddly, but neither issue prevents the EAH-AZ80 getting a big thumbs up from us.

Sound quality:Different models offer different sound, and since you’re buying a pair to enjoy music individually, it’s important to find headphones that match your sound preference, be it heavy bass or distinctively clear to where you can hear the littlest nuances in recordings. Some models like the NuraTrue Pro (top) offer personalized sound via companion app, which allows the user to create their own profiles and tweak EQ levels to their hearing. The FAMOO is a brand-new wireless earbud specifically designed for sport. The ergonomic ear-fin design and secure fit with two sizes of ear fins and three sizes of silicone rubber ear tips let you find the perfect fit and wear them while working out. And do not worry about easily falling out. Besides the perfect and secure fit, they also provide good sound quality and minimize outside noise if you choose the silicone tips and ear fin that perfectly fit your ears. Sony's XM-series earbuds go from strength to strength with each new generation. As the latest flagship, the WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds are smaller and lighter, yet they're equipped with some of the strongest features and performance we've ever seen from a pair of wireless earbuds. They have some of the most dynamic and engaging sound we've heard, and their noise-canceling performance easily matches that of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 or Apple AirPods Pro 2They don’t beat the Bose QC Earbuds for ANC or the Sony WF-1000XM4 for smarts and sound quality, but the Momentum True Wireless 3 are right up there with the best wireless earbuds on the market. The earbuds are completely touch-activated, so there are no buttons you just need to touch the rear of the buds, and they are going to work. FAMOO U-Air Review – Battery Life Apple’s Spatial Audio is another headline feature, and there’s even an all-new Adaptive Transparency mode, which is highly effective. Pressure and touch-sensitive controls add another layer of usability, with a simple swipe of the earbuds stem now adjusting volume, while the buds’ battery life has been boosted to six hours of listening with ANC engaging. For those that own an iPhone, iPad or MacBook, the brilliant AirPods Pro 2 are the wireless earbuds to buy. Likewise previous to my wireless earbuds review, the sound quality is pretty good in this price range. If you are not serious about audiophiles or high-end sound quality which I think you are not if you are looking for cheap wireless earbuds. The sound is exceptional and better than I expected in this price range. Such features make the Buds2 Pro our number-one choice if you’re already invested in the Galaxy ecosystem but if you don’t fall into that category, you’ll find better value elsewhere on this list.
