If you’re looking for a wireless gaming headset for PC, something like the Logitech G Pro X Wireless or Razer BlackShark V2 Pro are definitely a little better suited to your needs.

Additionally, this gaming headset also supports simultaneous Bluetooth connections to your mobile device. We haven’t assessed how it performs with the PlayStation 5 yet, but if it works as well there as it does most everywhere else, you won’t be disappointed. Connect your headset to the Turtle Beach Audio Hub program to update your device’s firmware to version (v.On the bottom of that same earcup are a series of buttons and wheels that let you adjust the volume and toggle different sound modes, depending on how you set up the headset in the accompanying Audio Hub phone app. Combined, all of this means the Turtle Beach headset struggles to really transport you into the games you’re playing, both in terms of general atmosphere and full-on action.

This reviewer lives in a place with a fair amount of overhead traffic, located not too far away from an ambulance depot (it’s a real joy). The PS5’s 3D Audio is a great feature for extra gaming immersion, and it’s one that you can take advantage of by simply plugging a pair of standard wired headphones into the DualSense controller. I took it on a weekend away knowing, gloriously, that I could leave the charger behind, saving space in my bag. One of the biggest differences between the Stealth 600 Gen 2 and Stealth 700 Gen 2 is having access to both the Xbox pairing protocol and Bluetooth. Enhance your gameplay experience at the touch of a button with four signature Turtle Beach audio presets including Bass Boost, Signature Sound, Treble Boost, and Vocal Boost.Incredible, 40+ hour battery lets you play for weeks on end without ever thinking of charging the battery. Voice feedback lets you know how much juice is in the tank when you switch the headset on, and keeps you informed of the status of your connections, but you don’t get the pop-up info on the PS5’s screen that you do when using the Pulse headset. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 should last through 20 hours on a single charge –though we’ve managed to get more out of the headset on occasion (when playing without voice chat, for example). It has a secondary hinge letting you move slightly closer or further from your face, but it’s a far cry from the reshapable wire mics you find from many other manufacturers. Customize your audio EQs, adjust mic monitoring levels and more from your mobile device for your Turtle Beach headset with Bluetooth ®.

A 20-hour charge is on the high side of average for a gaming headset, but that should be more than enough for most players, so long as you keep a charging solution handy to top it off between sessions. It doesn’t give you full EQ level controls, so it isn’t as robust as what you’d find on a PC headset, but it’s more than you get with many console headsets. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 offers pretty good audio for a gaming headset, but it runs into some common pitfalls. Those people will also likely not realise that the Stealth 700 Gen 2 has a stalk mic, so well hidden is it when folded away. We have very minor complaints about the quality of the hinges and joints that allow the cups to move and the headband to adjust, but through some quite intense testing (over a period of months! This means people with deep voices shouldn’t run into any issues with sounding tinny or abnormally quiet due to hardware over Discord, Zoom, or console voice chat.

At first you’ll need to take the headset off to find the button or dial that you’re after, but it doesn’t take long for the position and feel of each to become ingrained. As for the sound quality, that’s entirely unchanged from the 700 Gen 2, which means the same, powerful 50mm speakers pumping clear and loud. One of the big advantages of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 – over both its predecessor and the Stealth 600 Gen 2 – is comfort. When connected to your phone, you can also change the headset’s settings using the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app. The Gen 2 mic enhances chat clarity and seamlessly conceals into the headset design when flipped up to mute. You can read our full Stealth 600 Gen 2 review, but the summary is this: the headset looks a lot like the Stealth 600 Gen 2 but has a longer battery life (78 hours, 23 minutes). The amount of fuzz and distortion to the sound was truly awful, making it almost impossible to assess any other factors. Anecdotally, I found the headset lasted through about three days of regular use on average, even when regularly pairing and unpairing with my smartphone. Yes, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX works on the Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. It’s simple to set up, comfortable enough for lengthy sessions, and its battery life means you can cram almost a day and a half of gaming in before you need to charge it.
