Apparently they’ve done away with this “strategy” and will be distributing all three Singletons to all markets. Built in 1897, the last of seven distilleries founded in Dufftown, Glendullan was the brainchild of blenders from Aberdeen by the name of William Williams and sons. Seems they did a good job maturing the stuff, as the aroma displays the sort of richness you only get from combining different cask types. Diageo set out in 2015 to have the best selling single malt in the world – with the three brand The Singletons concept.Based within the Glen Ord Distillery, one of three storied distilleries which make The Singleton brand, the new experience treats guests to the finest Scottish fare. The sweet and fruity notes in this fine malt from Dufftown, at the heart of Speyside, are the product of traditional, slow distilling, using pure water from Highlandman John's Well. saw the dawning of two new forms of art: Cinema and Comics, the Seventh and Ninth arts, respectevely. Perfectly drinkable dram, not offensive in any way, BUT it definitely lacks character and complexity.

Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old - The Whisky Exchange

Founded in the 19th century, Dufftown is located at the heart of the Speyside region of Scotch Whisky production. If I were to come to this dram without the marketing gimmicks I'd probably have been slightly less critical. The brand rose in the late 19 th century, united by a single vision to create fantastic single malt whiskies. As expected, the "Luscious Nectar" smells malty-sweet, fruity, slightly honeyed perhaps and very soft.

The Dufftown range includes 12, 15 and 18-year-old expressions and there have been various no-age-statement releases including Tailfire and Spey Cascade. Don’t get me wrong, this is not bad but it is certainly not good either, it’s just bland (I think you get the message). While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it is accurate, it is not a substitute for your reading the product packaging and label prior to use. I have read – and I’m not sure I believe this – that The Singleton was recently the fifth best-selling brand of single malt scotch in the world.

Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Whisky | Master of Malt

The Singleton of Glen Ord was originally earmarked for Asia, while Glendullan was destined for the US and Canada. The unique bottle shape of bottle is inspired by a traditional hipflask while the colour of the glass reflects the blue flint glass used at the turn of the previous century. The first impression is good: the bottle design (a star for that), a-touch-heavy-but-pleasant sweet and woody nose (two stars for that). As always, I will strive to give an honest opinion on the quality of the dram and the value for money it represents. The Dufftown distillery first drew water from Highlandman John’s Well in 1896 and continues to do so to this day.Disputes that cannot be settled over multiple drams of whisky shall be solely submitted to the court of Amsterdam, The Netherlands unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise. The town itself is home to a number of distilleries including Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Mortlach, and others.
