There’s so much material in this book it’s difficult to feel that any review could properly do it justice: the titles and names mentioned here are the merest sliver from the very top of the iceberg. I was also lucky enough to inherit a bunch of old 2000AD from my uncles which kept me going for years. You get her version of events right up until she was branded to be in DOS, the secret women’s group being groomed to become sexual partners for Raniere, along with her escape from the organization and attempts to save all of those she had recruited. The boom in 1970s nostalgia which hangs like smog over all of us who were ‘lucky’ enough to have been children then isn’t without its problematic side.

there were several other series and literary adaptations that made an impact on viewing audiences; these still hold up today, despite some more recent versions. It is apparent in the last chapter that there was so much more going on that even she was unaware of.I struggled with her description of recognizing all the red flags and never, for TWELVE years paying attention to them.

In Britain at least the spectre of World War II is still remembered, and it is a decade of political and economical turmoil. I suppose it's important to note that the authors are a little bit older than me, but much of what they cover was still doing the rounds in the early 80's when I was a little boy. An actor’s exposé of her experiences in the NXIVM MLM Executive Success Program, which she looked into only after a solid endorsement from a trusted colleague. There is part of me that when thinking about reviewing this book could easily just list all the contents and say 'get on with it'.Imagínate que un día tu vida es tan miserable que sientes que no hay nada que llene tu vacío, que sientes que eres un fracaso entonces te encuentras con un grupo de gente que te dice que el problema está en ti y sólo en ti, que debes dejar ciertos patrones que llevas cargando desde pequeño para poder vivir la vida que quieres y entonces ¡boom! The book also shows how TV kept changing its production methods (such as the increase in location filming, both home and abroad) and how the extent of permissible subject matter grew. It’s heady stuff, this condensed yet highly detailed tour of a decade that feels so odd to modern sensibilities. I've consumed a lot of media about NXIVM and Sarah's story over the last couple of years and this is probably the best one because it's one of the only ones that's directly from her side of the story. This is a marvellous book that brought back countless memories (some that had probably been repressed with good reason), provoked several outbursts of laughter at inopportune moments, and reminded me of just how and why I fell in love with horror, SF and all things spooky.

At first she was skeptical, but she got hooked on the self-improvement promised and the ethical values espoused.I'm still glad I read it, but it felt like listening to a verbal dump of recollections, facts, and names rather than a cohesive account. It's a decade of freedom for creative people, and yet they are experiencing a hangover of the peace and love era. She knew exactly what she was doing, and somehow thought nothing of taking money from people for unintelligent courses that she questioned the value of.
