Although A Boy Named Charlie Brown never made it to the airwaves, Mendelson was struck by Guaraldi’s sophisticated cues and the soundtrack for the unaired documentary was released on Fantasy Records. Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung. While it is a slow song, even when Guaraldi takes it to another speed by himself he makes it hard to wonder if he's just having a field day on the keys. It radiates calm warmth, and is the only Christmas album you might find me listening to in any month of the year. It’s the kind of realization that, even unconsciously, opens the door for later discoveries in Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Robert Glasper, and everything beyond.

I have hundreds of MINT albums and ultrasonic clean every new record, and I am crazy crazy picky when it comes to imperfections and surface noise.I thought the album started with "Christmas Time Is Here Again" vocal version and ended with the instrumental version, so I recorded it that way and found out I was wrong when I finally bought my own on vinyl sometime later that had the sides marked on the label. For the duration of the record, there are a lot of songs that stick out in my mind as tracks I look forward to hearing and one of those is "My Little Drum". At least started it just to be reminded of how sweet the season of giving will be and to get myself pumped.
