The Banjo began life as a Kit Kat-style chocolate wafer bar that was only sold in London before reinventing itself as a nationwide product in the 1970s. They were peppermint striped for a double hit of freshness and the best part was, they never left your breath smelling grim like some other treats on this list . Here's a look back through the decades at 11 now-retro chocolate bars you might still have a yearning for? The Dream also went the way of the Flake Snow, despite a high-profile tie-in with Coronation Street. I let this set then repeated four times to cover each of the sides – and yes, this was tedious but then I was left with a little chocolate coffin. But with its wholemeal biscuit base, it was surely still one of the healthiest chocolate options out there. As a kid who became a teenager by the end of the decade, this was my time to enjoy a childhood of chocolate. A combination of coconut, cherries and caramel covered in milk chocolate, the bar will be relaunched as a test run backed by a Hawaiian-themed advertising campaign, with the slogan 'Chill out at the Cabana'. The fruit flavoured boiled sweets had the all-important hole in the middle, and left an odd fruity flavour in your mouth after sucking them.

I let this settle before melting my last batch of choc (and burning myself a little 🙁 ) to form the top/bottom of the bar. Chocolate Covered Pretzels were made by Nestle and were exactly as the name suggests - pretzels covered in chocolate! Earlier this year Cadbury announced they would bring back the Dairy Milk Tiffin for good, having previously discontinued the chocolate bar in 1972, and then again – following a revival – in 2003. A Cabana bar was a chocolate bar made by Rowntree’s, the British confectionary company responsible for treats such as the Kit Kat, Aero, Fruit Pastilles and the old favourite, Toffos. This Cadbury’s bar was a mix of chocolate, nougat and caramel It didn’t survive intact once I’d finished with a bar – but the public’s taste must have been altogether more discerning because as a brand Atzec didn’t make it to the end of the decade. Remember the clean-up operation when you'd accidentally rip open the packet and the balls went EVERYWHERE.
