If You Kill Him You Will Be Just Like Him: Played straight with Paul, who stopped Lin from killing the Bloodwatch member that almost Brainwashed him. Tomato in the Mirror: Played with for Christmas Snow, who gets the moment of revelation but it doesn't seem like it has sunk in yet. On the run from the police (thanks to Chrissy's post-traumatic blaming of Charon for the murders), mother and daughter must now confront the eldritch powers that are lurking in the shadows of Innsmouth, as an Ancient Conspiracy's plan just hit high gear and the duo are the only ones that have a chance in hell of stopping it. I used to think that sincerity was valuable...and that it was the one and only way to change the world. But sincerity by itself changes nothing. Without power, one finds themself merely depending on others to live. I've taken enough risks to buy the power to change the world. That's how the world works.

I found the "aftermath" the cherry on top of this story. It's added the extra something that I didn't realize that this story needed. It was already excellent but this just made it....near perfect. The series sexual themes were very interesting. Incest, lesbianism, and other forms of forbidden love are major themes of the show. I have a few questions: Were Akio and Touga having a gay triste whenever it showed shots of them on the bed together? Did that teacher molest Miki in one of the early episodes?

The dub's first director, Jim Malone, allegedly knew very little about the show's story, characters, and themes, which explains the somewhat detached performances in the early episodes. The dub shows a marked improvement in quality once Anthony Salerno took over. Cannon Fodder: Mother Hydra used the Slaads this way, knowing they couldn't resist. This leads Deep One Prime to lead his fellow Deep Ones in a short-lived rebellion. Sally is 15 and and attending an all girls school in the mid 1960s. She is friends with Pamela, a rough girl who no one else likes, and they both spend large parts of the day in the greenhouse on the roof. Their classmate, Sylvia, a prim and proper girl, is their enemy and constant source of their bullying. Many nights, Sally ends by staring out her window, looking at the train passing by. No Export for You: Zigzagged with the show and Adolescence of Utena, as explained above under Keep Circulating the Tapes. Played straight with the Sega Saturn game and the light novels, although fan translations do exist for those to one degree or another. to Utena] You remind me so much of Dios when I loved him. But you can never be my prince, because you're a girl.

Shrug of God: Director Kunihiko Ikuhara is infamously unhelpful — and sometimes deliberately infuriating— when it comes to explaining things about the show and even more so regarding Adolescence of Utena. Don't expect much in the way of straight Word of God. Probably best demonstrated with his statement about the difference between (Series) Utena and (Movie) Utena: "In the movie, she turns into a car." This is a slow burn of a read. There's an overall feeling of dread looming over the narrative. I kept waiting for the inevitable, unable to predict where the tale was heading. I found it an intriguing story because I wasn't really sure where it was going to go, which made it compelling. It's not very often that an avid reader gets a storyline that they can't see the likely outcome of. Birch writes the supernatural happenings in a way that is very believable - the way people react and behave felt like the way I might myself, if caught in a ghostly situation. Completely Different Title: Was released as Ursula's Kiss, its intended US title (see below), in various countries.

Tragedy happens at school, followed by another incident that causes some sort of incident at the school. Sally breaks up with her long term boyfriend Robin and then....and then the book takes off into an amazing, beautiful turn..several years into the future. Sally and her friends have finished college and are young adults. Sally and Robin run into each other in the street and reconnect. He's living in her old school, which has recently become an apartment building. And this is where the most interesting part of the book begins. H.P. Lovecraft meets Gilmore Girls" -- Possibly with a dash of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the mix. Having enjoyed two of Carol Birch’s earlier novels – Orphans of the Carnival and the Booker Prize shortlisted Jamrach’s Menagerie – I decided to try her new book, Shadow Girls. I enjoyed this one too, but it’s a very strange novel and not quite what I’d expected! during Utena's seventh duel (Self)] Miss Tenjou, don't you think this is strange? She could die. Why does she fight on? It's over, Miss Tenjou. But...I've seen this before. I know what this is. This is...this is...I know this! It's like what happened that time...!

Dark Souls: The Complete Collection (Graphic Novel)

Eternity means lasting forever, right? For years, decades, centuries, millennia, eons, and on and on. My life may be just a moment, but.... Eternity means that this moment lasts billions of billions of years, without end. I.... I.... I want eternity. Lighter and Softer: 'Shadowgirls' might not come across as all that cheery, what with the rampant carnage and monsters... until you compare it to the stuff that Lovecraft himself wrote. This series is vastly more idealistic than most works that connect to the Cthulhu Mythos.

I don't want to say much more and get into spoiler territory. I think this creepy story with its weird creepy girls in their old creepy school will stay with me for a while. I'll be seeking out more titles by Carol Birch. You stand here before me because of the illusion you've created! That's what allows you to enter the dueling arena! Am I wrong? In the end, you and I are the same.
