Sound - Lesser bass slam, midrange is a bit boxier than Fenestrated Sheepskin, smallest soundstage. Whether you want to listen to music in peace without disturbing anyone or just want to watch a movie, a headphone is very much essential for that. Audiophile or not, if you like to listen to music, you have obviously thought of buying a headphone. And today we are going to talk about the comparison Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650 and provide as much as information we can. Comparison Charts between Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650: Some headphones in the price range produce better bass, such as Meze 99 Noir's. But, the HD6XX are in general much more revealing and accurate across the rest of the frequency range than other headphones in this price range. More importantly: in addition to critical listening for fun and relaxation, I use these every day for work as a composer/sound designer. I need a fairly neutral, accurate sound with very high attention to detail and precise imaging.

The value and price to performance on this headphone are beyond absurdly great. One quality I did notice was that the HD58x Jubilee at 150ohm fairs much better at low listening levels than the HD6xx at 300ohm, which obviously requires more power to get a nicer experience from. The latter is very soft, so lower listening levels mutes the top end a bit too much, whereas the HD58x still retains good treble quantity at lower listening volumes. The 6xx is relaxed and inoffensive. At no point using these did I find my music sharp or sounding unsettlingly wrong. There is a pleasant amount of note weight on this set, especially the mid bass. I have no qualms about the mids, and actually, found the mid treble very adequate and correct timbrally.To me, the bass sounded like wet cardboard, flabby, dense and wet. I enjoyed this sound personally though I wouldn't call it the most correct to me. There is not enough sub bass. The HD6XX model of Sennheiser was released in 2018, which is considered an update of the HD650 model. It has a price of 220 USD, which is actually very reasonable, about which we will talk about later. It weighs 9 ounces approximately, and sadly it doesn’t have waterproofing features. About HD6XX Now, it does have surprisingly good imaging chops and presents music in a fairly wide stage with good (but not amazing) instrumental positioning, but that’s almost expected given its earspeaker-like configuration. Tl;dr: I dont know if there are compromises in the manufacture of the Sennheiser HD6XX because its crowdsourced and potentially built to a different price point to the HD650 its based on.

Unlike the HD6XX, the Sennheiser HD650 is not much recent and has been around for a while. And it has achieved a certain amount of popularity among both professional and domestic users. It has very easily fitting oval earpieces and the whole model is really smart and completely no-nonsense. The headphone weighs 260 grams which is not much to bear, so it is comfortable to wear on your head. Like the HD6XX, it also has a massive frequency response, which is from 12 Hz to 40.5 kHz, which makes it really versatile. The distortion percentage of headphones is less than 0.05%, which is really impressive. So apart from being perfect in sound, it also offers an open stage sound range. You can find amazing details in different music that you weren’t able to find before. So, as a whole, the HD6XX is top-notch regarding the audio system. Things You Need to Know These have a pretty solid soundstage, much bigger than your typical closed headphone. They definitely excel with any kind of acoustic music. I have also found that they're great headphones for tuning a system because it's very easy to hear changes in the system and make sense of them. Very balanced sound.And yet with the overwhelming success of the HD6XX, there’s one other classic headphone in Sennheiser’s lineup that remains untouched by Drop: the legendary HD800 (S or otherwise). Specifically, we’re talking about warm and rigid bass, a midrange that dips close to the ruddy colors of analog tape saturation (without sacrificing an ounce of detail), and a laser-tight response up top that helps illuminate vivid clarity and granular instrumental texture across the board. So yeah, they sound pretty good.

Upon first use on my head, the clamping pressure is too much for me to handle. It was the same with the HD650, my HD600, my HD580 and even my older favorite the HD485. Time is your friend, let it breathe and stretch on some books or a headphone stand that is wide. These headphones are all mids. I feel like the entire section is highlighted. It's present from the very first use. Something about this sounds speaker-like too, like it's similar to speakers, not a "headphone sound". This is a pro and a con IMO. It's good because it's more familiar and what I am used to in my mind, but also bad because it feels a bit off from other headphones I have experience with. Compared to my previous headphone though, DT880 250ohms, it sounds a mix of way more lively, aggressive, and “correct”. The HD560S can be described as simply “neutral”. Some may argue that it’s closer to being “bright-neutral”, but in comparison to something like the HD800S it’s not as peaky. In all honesty, I wouldn’t be too mad if Sennheiser named this the HD620 or something. Assuming of course that they beef up the construction materials because while it’s almost HD6X0-tier sound, the build quality still screams “yes, I’m a HD500 headphone”.All the parts are of good quality, but if you use the headphone for a long time, you might need to change or replace many parts. As the drivers might start creating distortion and rumbling sound, or the headset might become loose. But the good thing is you can replace those parts without any hassle. Sound Quality Now let’s talk about the thing that matters the most in a headphone, the sound system. As we said earlier, the Sennheiser HD6XX provides amazing and lifelike sound quality and for such a reasonable price, which makes the headphone more desire-worthy. And the cable is easily removable and also easily replaceable if you damage it somehow. The length of the cable is 6 feet and weighing 261 grams, these headphones have a good amount of clamping force, which has been tried to be alleviated by using soft padding, which makes it easier to wear the headphone during a long session of music listening. Each kind of music, be it 70’s guitar tunes, pop music, or saxophone music, or even beautiful music that comes out of violin strings, all can listen in a perfectly detailed way with this. I do praise it for being fairly correct, having decent resolution and being a relaxing listen for the price. It is not a bad headphone. The HD6xx is good for the price. Attachments
