Description

According to the USDA, butter (opened or unopened) can be kept in the refrigerator for one to three months. It can also be frozen for up to a year. The taste and texture will change considerably after that point, so aim to only buy as much as you think you can use within a year. Can you eat expired eggs?

Surprisingly, I did not like some of the "tiny" popcorn, or "nearly hull-less" or "white popcorn". Again, more experimentation awaits me! I say "surprisingly", because all the descriptions I read, I would have thought that I would have preferred these to the "high pop yellow butterfly" popcorn. Another item, Molly McButter is awesome. Sprinkle lightly on the popcorn, after adding and tossing the melted butter mixture. (I use it in soups too and steamed veggies!)All of our Certified Organic products and some of our non-dairy options will qualify for Non-GMO Project Verification. Touch base with the Butter Buds representative that services your areafor details. Melt oil in popper, wait until I see just start to see smoke coming from the oil, gently "shake" the popper to evenly distribute the oil, then add the kernels, again gently "shake" the popper to distribute the kernels. I have read that Popcorn will pop at lower temperatures, but pops more completely and larger, when the temperature is 450 degrees or so that is why I wait until I just start to see the oil starting to smoke. I need to buy one of those infrared thermometers! In my efforts to find this “extreme butter” popcorn flavor profile, I tried several additional ingredients. Here are some variations that I have tried, and are very enjoyable, but I wanted to list the "main" recipe first, as it is incredible. I am finding that with this popcorn recipe, "less is more". Yes, you can freeze butter – in fact, unsalted butter can last up to five months; salted butter up to nine with proper storage. To keep it tasting as fresh as possible, keep the frozen butter in its original wrapping. How long can you store butter in the refrigerator? I immediately transfer the popcorn to a Stainless Steel large mixing bowl, pour my melted butter/flavacol over the butter, and toss. And toss. And toss. Now, when you think you are done, don’t stop, toss some more. I will do this: toss. toss, toss, toss, swirl, swirl, turn mixing bowl 90 degrees, repeat like 10 times.

I then turn off the popper, unplug, put the cap on top of the plastic top, then turn over the popper, give it a good shake, wait 20-30 seconds for that one last kernel to pop, then remove the base from the "top". If I would have to rank the three oils, for taste, a very slight edge goes to the Ghee. If I am serving popcorn to guests, I will use Ghee. Yes, you can freeze butter – in fact, unsalted butter can last up to five months; salted butter up to nine with proper storage. To keep it tasting as fresh as possible, keep the frozen butter in its original wrapping. You can also wrap it in foil or plastic and put it in an air-tight container. Are Butter Buds good for you? We have several vegetarian and vegan options. In fact, all of our non-dairy specialty products are vegan. Reach out to the Butter Buds ® representative that services your area for a sample. Butter Buds ® Sprinkles contain about 10 calories per serving. Each one teaspoon (2 g) serving is equivalent in flavor to about one tablespoon of butter or margarine, which contain about 100 calories and 11 grams of fat.One interesting note, the melted butter does not "melt" or shrink the popcorn, as some other liquids tend to do when poured over popcorn. I think that the reason is that I am gently boiling out some of the water, when I melt my butter. I have tried to put the hard butter on the top of the popper (where the air vents are), the instructions say that you can use that space to allow butter to melt and drip onto the popcorn while it is popping, but I found that causes the freshly popped kernels to shrink. My end result, as I said, is a very buttery, intensely buttery, very enjoyable popcorn. It does not duplicate the movie theater popcorn taste, but in my opinion, I like this better, and I am not consuming soybean or other heavily processed or hydrogenated oils, and artificial or questionable ingredients.

I tried going high end, and used Himalayan sea salt, blended into a fine powder, and mixed in with the butter, but it did not taste as good as the Flavacol. I was stunned! I would much prefer Himalayan sea salt over flavacol. Wish there was a way to just buy the Butter flavoring and Riboflavin (vitamin B2) that Gold Medal uses in Flavacol. I think they use the Riboflavin just to give the salt some yellow color without adding any food coloring. Ingredients: maltodextrin (a natural carbohydrate derived from corn), salt, natural butter flavor and other 100% natural flavors, butter, cornstarch, buttermilk solids, tricalcium phosphate, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, extract of annatto (color). Does butter go bad? The % Daily Value (DV) tells you how much a nutrient in a serving of food contribute to a daily diet. 2000 calories a day is used for general nutrition advice. While I am still playing around with my recipe, here is my recipe for very enjoyable buttery, "extra flavory" intensely buttered Popcorn! While not "low fat" by any means, it is using much healthier ingredients than "off the shelf" products often sold for "movie theater tasting" popcorn. As, I do not get enough coconut oil in my diet, and those Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) are important in our diets, so after I run out of the Franklin's, I will use the Nutiva, and I like that it is USDA Organic. If Nutiva (or anyone else) ever comes out with an affordable Butter flavor MCT Oil from 100% Coconut oil, I will try, and probably switch to that. Given the popularity of Bulletproof Coffee, I am sure that someone will come out with one eventually. That said, here are some minor additions that I have tried and worked very well, but in my mind, the "jury is still out", as to whether or not it is better than my “basic” recipe listed above! For each flavor, a half-teaspoon serving—described by the manufacturer as equivalent to three tablespoons of butter—contains four calories compared to the almost 20 calories in a half-teaspoon of butter, but also contains 90 milligrams of sodium. What are the ingredients in Molly McButter? About once a year or so, I will buy one container, just to see if the product has been improved, and so far, I have been disappointed every time. I would have thought that this would have given me a "10x butter flavor explosion"! However, as good as it tasted, not adding it, gave me just as good, maybe even better flavor? I was amazed. Butter Buds ® Sprinkles contain maltodextrin (a carbohydrate derived from corn), butter, salt, natural butter flavor, rice starch, sunflower lecithin, annatto (for color) and turmeric.
