This is a soft, inoffensive and adorable 'vanilla cake' fragrance. It's not kinder, and it's not ridiculously feminine either so guys can pull it off easily. I like to combine with any perfume which I would like to add a little bit of warmness and creaminess.

A touch too savory of a vanilla for me to truly enjoy. It reminds me of a distant cousin of the dry vanilla in Whispers in the Library, but Whispers has far better longevity and I like the overall scent composition way more. Decided to try the Eau Duelle EDP version after I broke out in hives twice from the EDT. This is very different due to the simplified note breakdown, and bonus points as I didn't have an allergic reaction. There is a light spiciness, and maybe some smokiness? Not sure...but what really matters here is the woody and earthy dimension. No medicinal or grassy notes, just beautiful oak moss and dry smoked vetiver dancing around warm and oily vanilla.But sadly, it seems Atelier think vanillas can act like citruses; solinotes able to almost carry themselves. It hasn't worked out here for me, as with their Tobacco Nuit as well were the vanilla is oddly not the 'Syrupy' type but cloying yet seems light as it's so one-dimensional. When other cologne creations by Atelier Cologne can be called aquarelles, this one is definitely an oil painting: rich, juicy, long-lasting... true to its name, intense.

The overall scent is heavy, but the blends make it wearable enough for indoor activity. Definitely suits colder days better. SPL is moderate to weak. I can no longer smell it around and on me after 3 hours max. It would be an instant love had I could skip the mid phase. This fragrance is so unbalanced, it's painful to smell. The expired vanilla extract scent and the woods are a million miles apart. And then to make matters worse, the citrus part just amplifies the horrible smell of that damn vanilla! It's not fresh, it's not woodsy, it's not even cloying like a lot of vanillas are ....it's just flat out wrong. The carved wood throughout the shop had a distinct, slightly older quality to it that this also captures (possibly the oak, oakmoss, and coriander here). It's slightly musty - but paired with the incense, is also very comforting and cozy. There are many different ways to enjoy the scent of vanilla. It's heavy on the dank, musty, smoky woods, as well as the playdough-sweet vanilla, but the two halves don't seem to quite come together. This is a very mature, unisex vanilla and depending on your skin chemistry, I can picture someone absolutely loving this. Unfortunately, it comes across as a little synthetic in the opening and I'm unsure about the lime/citron notes.
