About this deal

Gravity Balance Design: unlike traditional trays the Tipsi Tray is held from above. This allows the swinging motion of the tray to counteract movement of items on the tray, and keep them balanced. Perched on the edge of his seat for much of the show, an excitable Paphitis gave investment hopefuls the sharp-tongued once over, before turning down every single one. Oh Theo, how we’ve missed your kindly nature and natural munificence. After my late grandpa used a primitive balance serving tray for years and seeing how much it helped him I knew I had to develop and improve the design to help others the way it helped him. The 14-inch tray has enough surface area for a dinner plate and a drink or up to 8-9 glasses or mugs. The tray is designed in a tripodal fashion to enable ease of use whilst carrying items on it. It uses centripetal force which helps to reduce the chance of spilling any food and drink being carried.

Single Handed Tipsi Tray - Easy to Use Serving Tray, Premium

Tipsi Tray ensures items remain steady and level – excellent alternative to traditional trays for people with conditions which cause shaky hands or tremors, such as Parkinson’s disease When the tray is moved around, the contents remain still on the tray as the centripetal force overcomes the force of gravity. On top of that, the tray is made from a polyurethane rubberised coating which provides a firm grip on plates and glassware. The Tipsi Tray is also safe and sturdy, being made from a food grade stainless steel. The Tipsi Tray is built to last a lifetime. I began work on Tipsi Tray, the Single Handed serving tray designed to make life easier and safer in the home and hospitality industry.” The Dragons appreciated Simpson’s ability to wangle a direct-as-vendor deal with a shopping network. But the praise came with a rude awakening: without a patent, Simpson’s design was left with no barrier to entry. Even the factories manufacturing Simpson’s products could “see you having a bit of success, easily replicate the item and massively undercut you on price,” Davies levelled with him.

Tipsi Tray™ | 11 Inch | Single Handed Carry Tray

At 14 inches ad weighing 1.5kg, the Tipsi Tray would be ideal for serving food and drinks at dinner parties or barbeques. It has enough surface area for a dinner plate and a drink or up to eight to nine glasses or mugs. There’s never a dull moment in the Den, much like there’s never a dull moment running a small business. The moral of this episode seems to be: know your brand, roll with the punches and don’t spin too many plates (or trays). More Dragons’ Den I’m hoping to follow in the footsteps of Trunki which appeared in the Den in 2006. Theo pulled apart a Trunki travel case but despite this they have gone on to sell more than 2.8 million suitcases and is now a global success. Again, using this one-handed tray means your other hand is free to open doors and walk through the house with ease to the dining room, lounge or garden to serve your guests.REMOVABLE HANDLE | The only serving tray in the world with a single handle, Tipsi Tray has a fully collapsible design, removable handle and separate tray which allows you to store it away easily and to put the tray in the dishwasher. As easy as placing a plate in the dishwasher Tipsi Tray™ will make your life easier. LIGHT WEIGHT | Weighing in at 750 grams (26 ounces) 55% lighter than the original Tipsi tray, the Topple Tray is easier to carry and more functional with a comfortable stainless steel handle.

From January 2023, Disability Horizons received the very first batch of the new Topple Trays, a brand new and improved design of the Tipsi Tray, which is much smaller, lightweight and portable. Although both have similar functionality, it is perhaps the user orientated focus for the Tipsi Tray that makes it a more universal product than the traditional Tepsi. The Tipsi Tray has been designed with the less able in mind, and therefore can offer certain features the Turkish Tepsi cannot. The Turkish Tepsi Tray is antiquated and only truly fit for use in Turkish coffee houses. The simplistic and elegant design of the Tipsi Tray make it a far more suitable companion in a contemporary setting.REMOVABLE NEOPRENE GRIPPY SURFACE | Simply lift off the grippy rubber surface for a metallic tray beneath depending on your style or use. Machine wash or wipe down both surfaces At first I felt disheartened by my Den experience but I now have great confidence that my business will thrive without the investment of the Dragons. The money may have speeded up the process but it’s made me realise the next steps in my business and how I can continue to make it a fantastic success. Despite the Dragons not believing in my business, I won’t be giving up on the Tipsi Tray. Robert said: “My pitch was going really well and Sara was wowed by the benefits and features of the Tipsi Tray. I thought I had won her over and she was going to invest, but in the corner of my eye I could see Theo pulling apart my tray. At that point my heart sank a little. The long handle is a key feature which makes the two trays appear very similar. Both trays allow for the plate / tray to be used on its own as a platter for serving food as the hook and arms are removable. Perhaps one of the main differences between the trays is the modern design work that comes with the Tipsi Tray. The Tipsi Tray features raised edges and a non-skid surface for keeping dishes securely in place to minimise spills and messes. The strong, but non plastic, rubber makes it almost impossible to spill anything over on the tray. By choosing rubber, it also makes the Tipsi Tray dishwasher friendly unlike the Turkish counterpart (a must have for the average 21st century user!) SINGLE HANDED USE | New and Improved design based on the original Tipsi Tray by single handed products. Carry drinks with a single hand using the magic of physics! Carrying drinks has never been easier and safer. Keep a spare hand free to hold a bannister on stairs, open doors or use a walking cane.

You would be forgiven, watching this episode, for thinking all British entrepreneurial spirit had been stamped on by scaly claws as the following two contestants – a husband and wife duo bringing dogs to weddings and a father-and-daughter sales team offering inflatable life vests for sports – left the Den empty handed. This ingenious no spill tray is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before – a unique design to help you carry with one hand, no matter how shaky your hands or how difficult you usually find it to carry items safely on a traditional tray. The Tipsi Tray, which has a long, curved handle which means it can be used one-handed and remain incredibly stable without spilling food or drink, was designed and a prototype built by his grandfather Andrew Townson in Yorkshire in the early 1980s. The Tipsi Tray is incredibly level and stable, meaning you will never spill your cuppa again! The Tipsi Tray works on the simple physics principle of centripetal force. When the tray is held in the hand, items on the Tipsi Tray sit far below the centre of rotation.
