What did I like about the MMC? Phoenix is the typical bad boy type, a stealer of hearts and panties (literally). He’s my favorite MMC, who has a troubled life and makes terrible choices. The FMC tries to show his worth and how he can be loved, but he hurts her instead of taking her advice. He may have broken her trust, but he will do anything to make it up to her. I love when the MMC redeems his wrong, even if he is afraid to at first.

CLOWN BEHAVIOR. you can tell me Phoenix doesn't deserve shit and he's the worst hero ever and i'd have nothing to defend myself with. but for some reason, i was ready to overlook all the red flags. i could feel their connection and their love even amongst the toxicity 🧍‍♀️ The angst and tension in the story are off the charts. You will be frustrated with both characters when they first hang out as teenagers and later when they are forced together again as adults. Phoenix will try anything to escape Lennon, and Lennon will try everything to make his life hell when she’s there to babysit him on tour. It will be a fun ride with these two but guard your heart hard because Ashely will break it several times before the characters get their HEA. Their romance years later is a lot more messier and their relationship was so volatile and could be toxic at times, but I never doubted for one second that these two characters share a connection and belong together. Even at their worst, I couldn’t help but root for them to be together, cause Phoenix and Lennon fit so well together. For the blur of hours it took me to devour this book, it owned every part of me. This is by far, hands down, my favorite Ashley Jade book to date. I am absolutely ruined. RUINED.
