The main downfall though is that the frequencies are not well balanced. If you are into music production these are not ideal. I’d look elsewhere if you want to use these for analytical listening. Wanted some small speakers for bbq and small house parties. These are great. Fantastic sound for the size. There is a headphone port at the front of the master speaker for easy access when you want to switch to a different listening experience. Great for connecting a DJ controller to practice at home. They are not loud enough for a party, but we do not use studio monitors for loud parties or events anyway. The sound of these speakers is not loud enough to fill an entire room evenly. Even at higher volumes, distortion was very marginal. If you want a cheap studio monitor kit that has decent sound, the DM40 is an ideal choice.
