I admire Mark for what he has done, what he does on a daily basis and what he hopes to achieve in the future.

BBC One - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers, Series 1 BBC One - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers, Series 1

Britain’s top crime investigator criminologist Mark Williams-Thomas is a multi-award winning TV investigative reporter and former Police detective – the talk will leave you fascinated and enthralled as Mark gives you a unique insight into the lives of killers. No offense to anyone but I believe there is a certain group out there lobbying against this guy, I don't know for what reason, but this surely is very unprofessional to allow your personal grudges creep into the professional front. I found this an interesting read as Mark narrated his work. I found it fascinating how he explained the processes he uses. He shares examples of how he has been able to use these processes to solve cases he has worked on. He will take you on a personal journey to discuss the mind of a murderer, human fascination with killers and the cold-blooded cases which haunt him the most from around the worldI really enjoyed reading this. I was hooked straight away and I found it well written and very interesting. This perspective and the work he has done to try and provide justice for families of unsolved murder or missing person cases was admirable. In 1939, four-year-old Joyce Cox vanished whilst on her way home. Her killer has never been caught. Can the Dark Land team help her family to solve an eight-decades-old mystery? More

BBC One - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers, Series 2, The Child BBC One - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers, Series 2, The Child

Williams-Thomas is an ex-rozzer who blew the lid on jimmy Savile, so he has greater dispensation than most to be critical of the police. Which he is, in a libel-skirting way, Mark is going to share his vast experience of investigating some of the most notorious cases and killers - in what promises to be a truly eye-opening and entertaining talk. This anthology series showcases multiple storylines centered around troubled detectives investigating gruesome, confounding serial killings. Each season immerses viewers into meticulously crafted atmospheres while posing thought-provoking questions about morality, religion, and human nature. Brilliant performances by actors like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, and Mahershala Ali further elevate the already intricate narratives. Death has a unique smell. I’ve been in the presence of people who have killed; I’ve been in rooms where people have been killed. I’ve seen the unspeakable things human beings are capable of. None of that puts me off my aim; I want to see those people caught, convicted and sent to jail.” This is an interesting look at various cases through the eyes of a dedicated investigator. Williams-Thomas makes much of his non-partisanship but he walks the walk, walking through some very dark places with families crazed and worn by grief.

My Book: Hunting Killers (Purchase a Signed Book)

I've never read a true crime book like this book but I highly recommend it, as it was fresh and different from lots of the other books in this genre I read. Very interesting! I’ve stood next to, chatted with, even had tea with some of the perpetrators of these terrible crime. There’s nothing to mark out any of these offenders as special. No unusual charisma, no dark aura, nothing to connect then and certainly nothing glamorous. They’re all just people - which is what makes them so hard to catch.’Mark Williams-Thomas has written a very good book and is honest in his thoughts and how he works towards a result, if he is able to. Very few murderers are mentioned and the book is mainly geared towards victims and their families.

Hunting Killers with Mark Williams-Thomas - Worthing Theatres

All that said, this is a decent read. His favourite cases involve missing persons and murders, but not exclusively; the author is the man who revealed Jimmy Savile's crimes to the public, so there's quite a lot about that too. And, just because someone has an incredible story to tell doesn't mean they're a great storyteller.Shows like Showtime's Dexter offered a deep and personal look into the mind of the titular character. Dexter was presented as an anti-hero who hunted down others like him while shows like The Following feature a look into both the minds of the killer(s) and the people hunting them down. The list goes on from here, featuring some great and thrilling series—and that's excluding the bounty of serial killer movies out there. Death has a unique smell. I've been in the presence of people who have killed; I've been in rooms where people have been killed. I've seen the unspeakable things human beings are capable of. None of that puts me off my aim; I want to see those people caught, convicted and sent to jail.
