If it took me on a steam train journey through the hills and lochs to get me to the pineapple upsidedown cake, which sadly wasn't lightly christened with any cinnamon, nutmeg or dusted chocolate that I so wanted to experience from this, I'd have probably marked it higher than the Lagavulin 16, which I scored an 8.5.The Dalmore 12 Year Old stands as a testament to intricate maturation techniques. Initially aged for 9 years in ex-bourbon casks, this single malt whisky then embarks on a distinctive journey. Half of the spirit rests for an additional 3 years in Oloroso sherry butts, while the other half continues to mature in bourbon casks. These two halves are masterfully brought together, resulting in a harmonious symphony of flavours. The Dalmore – a blend of classic & aged oloroso and rich & sweet Pedro Ximénez, formulated to provide the perfect enhancement to our house style.
