And what can I say? I fell in love. Of her talent. Whether for writing, but also for her drawings. I really regret not having known younger. And at the same time, I tell myself that maybe I wouldn't have appreciated the work that much. Would you consider the audio edition of Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales to be better than the print version? I was not too familiar with Beatrix Potter when I started reading this book to my granddaughter Cora. I knew of Peter Rabbit and Jeremy Fisher but that's about it. Through this book I met a score of other delightful animal characters and was re-introduced to a few stories I've known for many years but did not kn0w came from Potter's pen.

Yoto says: Immerse yourself in the complete collection of Beatrix Potter tales in this bundle read by Olivia Colman and others. Helen Beatrix Potter was an English author, illustrator, mycologist, and conservationist who is best known for her children's books, which featured animal characters such as Peter Rabbit. Even though I didn't love all the stories and rhymes, seeing all the lovely paintings and drawings by Potter was a delight. Though some of the stories kept me so pulled in I didn't want to look at the drawing in detail until later because I just wanted to find out the ending of that story. Tom was very naughty…. And I think that some day I shall have to make another, larger, book, to tell you more about Tom Kitten!” Also available in PDF.

What a bargain for 99 cents! Beatrix Potter is a treasure! A personal favorite. The author was asked by a child who “had told Beatrix that Peter was too good a rabbit, and she wanted a story about a really naughty one!” Well, as the story goes: “This is a man with a gun…. The good Rabbit peeps out of its hole. And it sees the bad Rabbit tearing past — without any tail or whiskers!” Also available in PDF. As with most children’s books that have withstood the test of time, the books appeal to not only children, but adults. As Books Children Love explains:

Beatrix Potter is one of the world's best-loved children's authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.Nearly every book list geared toward homeschoolers will include Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales, or at least a story or two from the collection. Revisit the world of Beatrix Potter in this timeless new audiobook edition. Featuring all 23 of the classic tales, this new collection features a range of award-winning and contemporary voices, including Olivia Colman, Tom Hardy, Lily James, James Acaster, David Harewood and Joanna Lumley. Stories themselves were interesting but some of the narrators were poor and not clear. Made it too boring to listen. A perfect gift to introduce children to the world of Beatrix Potter, The Complete Tales is a timeless and classic essential for any nursery shelf. Some of the language is quite old, and younger children may not necessarily understand. However the text would be good to introduce new vocabulary to children and develop skills for looking up complex language using dictionaries and thesauruses.

Beatrix Potter’s tales began when Peter Rabbit first made his appearance in The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902, followed by 22 other tales that you will find in Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales. Free eBooks This edition includes a section at the end that contains four additional works by Beatrix Potter that were not published in her lifetime. The shenanigans of Peter Rabbit and his cohorts still delight readers of all ages. Each character is unique, with cleverly crafted traits and a very particular personality…. These characters are endearing because they are true to life. They suffer consequences for disobedience and wrong choices. Potter’s stories have a universal appeal, transcending time and country. One of the things I liked about this collection of Beatrix Potter stories, rhymes, and paintings is that before each there is text explaining a bit about the story such as when it was written, what was going on in her life at the time it was written, etc.I must admit that I absolutely didn't grow up knowing the work of Beatrix Potter. Later, I had heard about it, but still without really caring about it. It wasn't until a few months ago that I started to really take a look at it. And for my birthday I received the complete work (in French).
