Description

The Z-Wave.Me Z-Wave and Zigbee mPCIe adapter is a controller board for embedded application. It fits in the mPCIe slot with full- or half-size holder. A controller software compatible to the Silicon Labs Z-Wave Serial API (for example Z-Way) and Zigbee NCP is required to use the functions of the device. CPPFLAGS = "-I/opt/homebrew/include" \ CXXFLAGS = "-std=c++0x" \ LDFLAGS = "-L/opt/homebrew/lib" \ LIBUSB_CFLAGS = "-I/opt/homebrew/include" \ Want to migrate to a different adapter? This may require repairing all your devices in some cases, see FAQ Enabling Thread, Zigbee and Matter support on the Sonoff ZBDongle-E is beneficial for the tinkerer’s smart home, it basically turns your Home Assistant instance into a powerful multiprotocol hub. It has the hardware capability, so why not actually use it? Credit goes to darkxst, the developer of this firmware fork and web flasher.

Chips starting with CC1352 support the sub-1 GHz frequency (which is not relevant for Zigbee since it uses 2.4 GHz), CC2652 only supports 2.4 GHz. So for Zigbee2MQTT purposes there is no difference between CC1352 and CC2652. While the RCP firmware allows you to utilize the adapter with other protocols such as Thread, it requires offloading large parts of the application onto the host computer using an additional service, Zigbeed (Zigbee daemon) instead. This service is not currently included with Zigbee2MQTT/zigbee-herdsman and you will be required to install and maintain the dependency yourself. The binding is able to search the network to get a list of what devices can communicate with other devices. This is a useful diagnostic feature as it allows users to see the links between devices, and the quality of these links. However, this can generate considerable traffic, and some battery devices may not poll their parents often enough to provide these updates, and users may consider that it is better to reduce the period, or disable this feature. Adding Z-Wave makes the project quite a bit more challenging, as multi-radio certification is quite a bit more challenging. You can also configure the coordinator via an old style Things file. Things files should be placed in OPENHAB_CONF/things. Here are some examples for a coordinator congiguration in a .things file. It will initially support controlling Zigbee 3.0 devices (as well as most other Zigbee devices), and then later they plan on updating the firmware for it to also support controller Thread/OpenThread devices via other integrations/add-ons, and that will hopefully also include integrations/add-ons for nativly supporting for upcoming Thread devices that uses the Matter standard too.

If you are using a config file, the serial port needs to be configured as shown in the above example. Below is a list of the relevat settings concerning the serial port. Setting If the USB dongle is not recognized, it might be necessary to make the dongle's device id known to the CP240x driver by Silicon Labs:The openHAB command line interface provides a number of commands to interact with the ZigBee framework. These can provide useful options for debugging when things aren't going as planned, and can also provide advanced users a means to make changes that are not possible directly through the binding. This section will provide information on a few common issues that users may come up against, but is not an exhaustive user manual for low level ZigBee commands. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScEjHSBJszUZfgO3MIDO51IHr3Oeohcs8BLpRIjY1liJ58IpA/viewform
