today's dinner is spaghetti" is the only good thing to come out of this movie. how this series started as feminist-ish and then became hardcore incel gospel is beyond me. and why did i watch 5, and why am i mad i can't find the 6th most of these are known as "dark" mixtapes full of exclusively gore clips without plot. not really movies but whateva... No tohle byla sračka:-D. Mám rád explo filmy a mám rád gore, ale tohle je sračka u který mi vysoké hodnocení přijde že dávají lidi jen proto aby si připadali dostatečně "edgy". Tohle je sračka kde ani nic neuvidíme protože všechno je vykostičkováno. Navíc to nemá ani hlavu ani patu, takovýhlech kokotin je na netu plno a v daleko lepších provedení. The second woman (who may or may not be an alternate persona of the first) makes no noise at all, even as she slices into her abdomen and plays with her own innards. The sound design during this second part of the film is a mess of bizarre electronic sounds (coming off like a cross between a purring cat and a malfunctioning Atari 2600), dipping into bursts of white noise. There are constant shifts in color grading and image processing too, cycling through a variety of grainy, low-resolution video formats.

Writer/director Tamakichi Anaru (Japanese for “anal”) cemented a spot for himself in the annals of extreme cinema with his 1998 debut Tumbling Doll of Flesh (or Niku Daruma). Long before the glut of so-called “torture P*rn” that continues to constipate the horror genre, Tamakichi fused the two acts into a sadistic misogynist’s wet dream. The first half of the film offers hardcore P*rn; in the second half, the unwitting actress is molested, tortured and finally killed – by the film crew. Pseudo-snuff at its cheapest and vilest – and for many, its most effective.

SUICIDE DOLLS comes from Tamakichi Anaru and it's certainly a step down from his previous two films. This one here lasts a few minutes shy of an hour and for the most part it gives each character a brief identification and then that leads us to the final act. tales of suicide from the director of the notorious Tumbling Doll of Flesh! This doesn’t come close to that films level of horror and nihilism but it certainly tries.

The fun action stuff is gone, the novelty factor is gone, the nudity is just boring now, and the only reason why this doesn't get a half star is because I can be bothered any more. just wanted to note that everything on this tier, apart from the briefly mentioned Animal Farm, was on Letterboxd - "I don't want to host this show no mo'."] I don't even remember how I stumbled over this one but I somehow did and I guess morbid curiosity did the rest. It took me a long time to find a working way to see this and even then I had to pass on subtitles because I couldn't for the life of me find some. (I could buy the dvd for 10 British pounds and hope for the best but I really don't wanna pay money for something like this.) Comparing this to Anaru's other works like Tumbling Doll of Flesh and Women's Flesh - My Red Guts it's a disappointment, nevertheless I pretty much enjoyed it, even though the first half hour was boring, but the last 8 minutes were too weird even for me.

An unexpectedly haunting film from Anaru. After the sleazy Niku Daruma and gross Women’s Flesh, I expected something much sleazier and nasty. What I got was a fairly restrained depiction of loneliness, pain, and depression. Yes, this film is a series of women committing suicide. But it’s also more nuanced and affecting than that. i've now watched all five of these and i regret my choices (i regeretted them from the outset, tbh). yes, i know there's another and i have wisely chosen to pretend that it doesn't exist. So I am finally am done with this dreadful little series. I mean it started off as a misguided feminist sleaze fest and has now just become a pro Incel/Nice Guy/MTGOW disaster. It even pulls the same pro suicide bullshit that The Butterfly Effect did though it is a microscopic bit less mean spirited about it. But that isn't saying much. Interesting ways of depicting despair, with a linear storyline of women unable to cope with mistakes. Beautifully shot, especially the second segment. I don't know how this series got from a feminist critique of toxic masculinity to "rape is good, actually" but somehow it managed it. Not an accomplishment to be proud of.
