In the last 100 years, Peak District mining has mainly concentrated on minerals which were once discarded as waste by lead miners: barytes, calcite, and, most importantly, fluorspar.Increasing use of mechanisation and opencast mining methods, together with agricultural activity, has resulted in the destruction of much of the legacy of centuries of lead mining. Only about a quarter still survives in reasonable condition, and an even smaller proportion has any legal protection. It was the dramatic loss of these features which led to the formation of the Peak District Mines Historical Societyin 1959. The charity raises money by organising shows, lunches, dinners and other events. The objectives of the charity are "to assist members of the theatrical profession, or their dependents, who, due to illness or old age are in need." When possible additional funds raised go to a diverse range of charities and good causes including hospitals, health charities and benevolent funds. these books are very fun to read but they definitely undermine themselves with plots that feel a little cobbled together. It’s no literary masterpiece and I am honestly disappointed because the story had so much promise! This book is for you if… We both wanted to read this book as we have followed Zoe on her socials for a really long time. Also Im a big lover of YA novels especially crime novels.
