This means it can be used as a starting point for money activities with children working with money up to the value of a pound.A little boy goes to a pet sale (where all the pets are so reasonably priced!) to find the perfect animal. He meets a rat first who pesters him throughout the story to buy him as the perfect pet. As a class, they will discuss what the shop was like, what animals they saw, and whether they bought an animal. Children will then use this information to complete a recount plan, using the provided structured sheet.
