Description

With the recent release of two new Philips halogen headlight bulbs ranges – the X-tremeVision Pro150 and RacingVision GT200– we at PowerBulbs thought we'd have an in-depth look at the features of these hotly anticipated car bulbs. Unlike other 150% upgrade bulbs, these H7 X-tremeVision Pro150 headlight bulbs last on average for up to 450 hours. That’s more than double the lifespan of other 150% bulbs on the market.

Osram's Night Breaker family has - Night Breaker Unlimited, Night Braker Laser and Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited. Which among these is better? Think about what the X-tremeVision Pro150's extra light means in terms of your driving experience. Such a massively enhanced light allows for added vision on the road, but it also helps alert other drivers on the road to your presence. Driving from this position of improved light has the extra benefit of improving one's comfort and safety on the road. I bought these to replace the extremely dull ‘12 VW Sportwagen bulbs. They were just slightly brighter but after making a 2300 mile trip that started the day I installed them, it’s best just to buy new projector housings and get either LED’s or my choice, HID’s. Starting from the completion of this transaction, you will automatically receive 1 brush head every 3 months, until you have notified us that you wish to pause or cancel your subscription. This huge extra provision of light translates to a massive amount of extra light on the road: the Philips RacingVision GT200 headlight bulb projects a bold light up to 80 metres farther than standard. Thanks to Philips' precision-engineering and expert grip over light beam technology and positioning, the Philips RacingVision GT200 is able to put all of its extra brightness to good use. Combining striking brightness with the kind of lifespan previously unavailable in such a high-performance bulb, Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 provides the visibility to keep you and your loved ones even safer on the road. This is not a great result for Osram’s standard bulb, but at least it complied with the ECE 99 light-output requirements. Just as with the performance version (below left), we suspect build problems with this pair, because their performance proved to be no match for not just the X-tremeVision, but also stablemate Ring’s standard bulb. Intention of this thread: I searched TBHP posts, but, wasn't clear with the information i got. I need advice from our knowledgeable members on:

If you decide to upgrade your headlight bulbs to Philips X-treme Vision +130 you will also benefit from a longer light beam. This in turn increases your reaction time for a safer and much more comfortable driving experience at night. I still have a feeling that halogens were at least illuminating the side-areas, whereas it is pitch dark with these LEDs. This is because LEDs do not emit lights in all directions (unlike halogens). However, I am planning a Pune-Mumbai-Pune trip early next week. Am planning to keep some part of the journey intentionally in the night, on the Pune-Mumbai express way (which is usually pitch dark). If you could hold on till then, I will be happy to share my experience. Software then measures the light at various points in the beam. It’s an unusual, if not unique, set-up, but the results have been corroborated by tests at parent company Osram’s conventional light tunnel in Germany, which we have used in the past. Please use our online xenon HID bulb finder if you're not sure which HID bulb fitting you need in your car.

Where the Philips RacingVision GT200 surpasses its predecessor, the RacingVision range, for light output, it does so at no cost to bulb lifespan. In fact, miraculously, where the RacingVision offered a bulb lifetime of up to 200 hours, the experts in Philips' engineering teams have endowed the new RacingVision GT200 range with an expected bulb lifespan of up to 250 hours. Given the enormous enhancements to light output already achieved, this extra lifespan is a definite bonus. Thankfully, Philips RacingVision GT200 is also fully tested and ECE-certified for road legal use on all public roads and highways. The following video compares the Extreme Vision with other popular bulbs. I’ve queued it up to the comparison section – just hit play. Experiencing Xtreme Vision’s Material and Longevity While there are longer lasting or brighter bulbs, Philips X-treme vision is one of the best bulbs for its price point. I’ve personally used this bulb for the last 6 months and so far haven’t had any qualms with this bulb.
