It is the craziest thing for most that their receiver offers both high-end audio and video quality. For drives, your crazy Onkyo TX-SR494 comes with all the latest video signal compatibility. Any stand that can hold their weight, which is not much, will do. For example the ones I had were the OmniMount Gemini 1 for the surrounds and the OmniMount Gemini 2 for the front speakers. These fit great and are exactly the right height. Reply So, set your mind if you are willing to go with it or not. But one thing for sure this receiver won’t make you disappoint you at all. FAQ

Number of speaker channels. The higher the number the greater the number of surround speakers. "Point" 1 indicates a subwoofer channel. 5.1.2 is for Dolby Atmos systems. Get a little confused? What does that mean the receiver can work within two-room? Yes, you hear right and you can easily connect your speakers and use them in two rooms. Object-based audio creates a virtual effect of sound around you without any height speaker. 4K HDR content I bought this amazing device couple of days ago, plays very nicely with my Behringer B2030P speakers. The only problem - cannot play audio from LG 42LW5700 TV through HDMI. All components do support ARC, I spent couple of hours playing with the menus and still couldn't get it to work. The audiophile knows about Dolby Atmos and DTS: X deep as they are related to the audio. These audio formats are now widely used for giving an immense sound experience. You might have a question that is scratching you from the very beginning, well let’s find out the answer. Why I need a receiver? If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications. AccuEQ room acoustic calibration work according to speaker size, distance from the receiver position, and the presence of the speaker. This feature actually detects these factors and then creates a virtual environment around the room.

From what iv read on various threads on here iv noticed its mostly down to an hdmi cable issue, me and my dads had this, both solved by getting different cables .. Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed. Besides these, the onboard EQ setup is there for the audio freaks. This is installed on the front side with other controls. From there you can set up the volume or other settings as you want. Onkyo TX-SR494 Impressive Features Super sound with DTS Virtual XIn the beginning these were few and far between but now you can find plenty of designs, either in a floorstanding design or bookshelf speaker. Many manufacturers like Dali, Monitor Audio or KEF are even making dedicated Atmos speakers that are designed in such a way that you can either attach them on the ceiling or place them directly on top of your floorstanding or bookshelf speakers if you prefer to go for an up-firing Dolby Atmos system and look as an extension of your main speakers. Anyone using this with PC with an Nvida gpu able to get full colour space, I can get 10bit ybcr444 but only limited, according to Vincent Teoh it should be able to. The frequency range is decent and balanced with the high-power supply. 160 watt per channel kind of breathtaking thing. With fire cube connected to the hue box my LG G1 displays the video output as rgb 8b tm - 3840x2160p - 60hz fixed, the colors are amazing and dolby vision works correctly, but lights won’t sync. This high-power Onkyo TX-SR494 receiver is perfect for large or medium size rooms. Because it gives a power supply of 160-watt per channel. Can you just imagine how powerful it is!

Finally have my system plugged in and everything seems fine except when my PC plays 5.1 sources my onkyo only allows "Multich" or "PL II" ect, is this still 5.1 or is this some sort of virtual surround? But there is also an alternative if the option to add speakers on your ceiling is out of the question. Manufacturers understand that your house is not an ideal environment as a cinema is so they had to become creative in this regard. And for this reason they created front speakers with an extra driver that are targeting the ceiling of you room. The sound that emits from these up-firing drivers will bounce on the ceiling and will come down to you as if they would originally come from the top. Now this technology may not produce the same results as having dedicated ceiling speakers, but it gives most people an alternative if they are not able to place these extra sound sources. A normal 5.1.2 setup consists of 2 extra ceiling speakers that will bring the sounds from above as you can see in the photo below. With 5.1.4 we have 4 extra speakers, 2 on the front and 2 above the rear speakers. How many speakers you are going to use is up to your space, your room configuration and obviously your budget. If you can go for 4 overhead speakers then this will get you the best possible results but if either your room doesn’t allow for that or your budget is limited then even two of them will do a very good job in this regard. Beside Onkyo there are many high-end manufacturers makes efficient receiver. If you are not getting into Onkyo then have a look at them like Yamaha , Klipsch, Sony, Denon, etc. As seven speakers can be set up with this receiver there are seven outputs for seven speakers. Also, in case you have powered subwoofers then there are pre-amplifier outputs for a maximum of two subwoofers. Therefore, the efficient Bluetooth connection help to stream wireless for those who don’t like wired at all. The Bluetooth connection is powerful enough to connect several devices. With one press on your remote or from the front panel of the receiver, you can change vocal frequencies’ ups and downs. Do changes how you like and get a clear dialogue than before. Use your TX-SR494 receiver within two rooms As the TX-SR494 allows Bluetooth streaming it is super easy to get connected to speakers or devices. Pair with your PC, tablet, phone and stream what you like to listen to. TV : Philips 77inch OLED 807 (Thanks AVForums and PHILIPS for this monster) Old: Panasonic 65 GZ 950 Firstly, you know this TX-SR494 receiver can handle 7 speakers at a time. Considering the setup of the 5.1 system and the rest of the speaker input you can use it for two different speakers in another room.

Though the connection is few whatever it contains is sufficient for anyone. Both for audio and movie holic this receiver is all in one. The Zone B line out of Onkyo TX-SR494 I already discuss ensures a connection with the RCA line input, also there is HDMI input. With these connect your transmitter and enjoy your wireless headphone.

The hiss is always there, no matter what mode the receiver is in (net, game, usb), I've tried disconnection everything except speakers and USB drive - the problem's still there. Now this technology is an interesting one especially if you consider how much trouble it can save you from adding more speakers and more cables around your house but as with everything there is a catch. As the sound doesn’t originate from the ceiling and is based on the bouncing effect the overall result feels less accurate, not as pronounced and the Atmos effects have less elevation at best. With PS5 all is working but i think it’s only because PS5 doesn’t support dolby vision…the only thing i can’t understand is that if i connect the ps5 directly to the tv the output is rgb 12b 4l8, but if i connect it to the sync box it will be YCBCR422 8b (like the fire cube with the enhanced dolby enabled). Each two-way front speaker houses a 12cm main driver, 2.5cm balanced-dome tweeter and an upward-firing 8cm woofer separately powered by the receiver's height channel. An active 80W subwoofer provides additional bass.
