The Glow Tracer Unit comes with an adapter which attaches to the front of the Storm Rapid Blaster and allows you to easily screw the Tracer Unit onto the front of the Blaster. Those have a special coating that makes them glow in the dark and can add a fun and magical touch to sensory play in low-light conditions. But don’t soak them for too long, as overgrown beads get excessively fluffy, brittle, and prone to damage faster. Overgrown beads are not good to use with any Orbeez guns either, as they need beads of specific sizes. Even with non toxic ink, it’s also important to make sure your kids wash their hands after playing.

On the other hand, soaking them for a shorter period would leave the beads too small. Personally, I prefer to leave them in the water for around six hours – it strikes a nice balance of size and rigidity, suitable for use with my Orbeez guns. As an Orbeez expert, I have grown and played with these little water beads for years. I still remember the first time I saw them, I was fascinated by how small they were, and how much they grew when placed in water. Now, I love sharing my knowledge with others who are just discovering the magic of Orbeez. Once you have your container ready, it’s time to add the Orbeez. Simply pour them into the container, taking care not to spill them. The amount you pour into the container depends on how many beads you want to grow. Strontium aluminate is a newer and less common compound. It’s more expensive but it glows up to ten times brighter and longer than zinc sulfide. Simply grow your orbeez in tonic water until they have expanded to their full size. They won’t grow as large as they would in pure water, so leave them for a good 4 or so hours to ensure they have reached their maximum size, and then drain the excess tonic water.I also discovered that stirring the beads every thirty minutes while they soak can help speed up the absorption process. But my biggest breakthrough was when I started using a larger container to grow them in. With more surface area, the Orbeez had more access to water and were able to grow faster than ever before. Once you have your highlighter ready, you’ll need to carefully break it open to retrieve the sponge from the inside (this is what contains the ink). ESCAPE INTO ORBEEZ: Experience satisfying tactile stimulations that will calm the mind, soothe the senses and develop fine motor skills! Orbeez are great stress balls, fidget toys and learning toys! After doing some research and conducting my own experiments, I found that, yes, I can use tap water to grow Orbeez. In fact, it’s the most commonly used type of water for growing these fun little beads. The gel beads are specifically designed to absorb water, so they will grow in any type of water, including tap water.

The Gel Strike Glow Tracer Unit fully charges the Glow In The Dark Gel Balls with a beam of blue UV light every time the Rapid Blaster is fired!!! The Glow Tracer Unit lets you see Glowing steams of Gel Balls fly though the night sky or low lit environment. You will no longer need to shine a bright light on the Glow In The Dark Gel Balls before use with the Tracer Unit attached to the blaster. The next thing you’ll need is water. It’s best to use slightly warm water, as cold water can slow down the expansion process. You should add enough water to cover the top level of the balls completely. Finally, you’ll need the Orbeez themselves. The easiest method is to use tonic water that has at least 5% quinine. You should be able to find it in any supermarket (try Schweppes or Canada Dry as both these brands contain more than 5%). Once your have your vitamin B12 tablets, simply dissolve them in water. Mix well and add the water beads. Allow them to grow for at least 4 hours and then drain the excess liquid. Now you can grow your orbeez in the water until they have expanded to their full size. As with tonic water, they wont grow as large as they would in pure water, so make sure to leave them for at least 4 hours to get as large as possible. Then drain the excess fluid (or keep it for now just in case you need more water beads later on).

How long Orbeez beads need to soak, relies entirely on how much and how fast they absorb water, which again depends on their size. Thus, the longer you soak them, the more water they absorb and the bigger they grow. A fluorescent material glows when exposed to UV light, but this glow ceases as soon as the light is removed. What Fluorescent Material Should I Use? Tonic Water As The Fluorescent Material:

The Glow In The Dark Orbeez are made from a non-toxic, biodegradable polymer material that is safe for kids to play with. To activate the glow effect, simply expose the Orbeez to bright light for a few minutes before turning off the lights to watch them come to life. Vitamin B12 is a safe, non toxic and water soluble vitamin. It’s probably the safest method of making glow in the dark orbeez. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to make water beads glow in the dark with a phosphorescent material like zinc sulfide or strontium aluminate. These compounds don’t mix well with water and they are beyond our DIY level! The upside of zinc sulfide is that it is very cheap. The downside is that it doesn’t glow for very long and it’s not that bright. Contents: approx. 1,200 glow-in-the-dark Orbeez water beads in a resealable container Type of Products:There are different types of Orbeez available, including classic, glow-in-the-dark, and scented. The classic ones are the standard version that comes in a wide range of colors. It’s important to drain the water completely, as excess water can cause the Orbeez to damage if they are left soaking in it for too long. You can gently press them with a paper towel or cloth to remove any excess water if necessary. Once you’ve drained the excess water, you can use the jelly beads.
