About this deal

Elise doesn't just have her heartbreak to contend with, her sister announces she is pregnant (something that Elise wishes she was), and her best friend is getting married, and Elise is to be bridesmaid, along with Sarah's other friend who Elise doesn't really get along with. Christmas at the Chocolate Pot Café is just an absolutely fabulous read. I have to admit I was expecting another heart warming, romantic read with lots of mentions of mouth watering cakes, of which it is, but then it is also so much more. At one point I was actually sobbing my heart out as I had got so wrapped up in Tara's world. It really had me going through an array of emotions and I absolutely loved it. While many of her books would be labelled as romantic-comedies on the surface, Redland would seek to explore deeper ideas through her work. This has seen her produce several series set in around her home in Yorkshire, along with a collection of memorable characters too. Gaining a lot of recognition for her work, she has plenty more ideas planned in the pipeline, as she continues writing for some time to come. Christmas at The Chocolate Pot Café will definitely evoke all of your emotions, it's a wonderfully Heartwarming read, with plenty of surprises, with a sprinkle of mystery and romance.

When the women meet at their local bootcamp, a deep friendship blossoms. And soon they realise that the secret to happiness is where they least expected to find it… Danniella is running from her past, so when she arrives at the beautiful seaside resort of Whitsborough Bay, the last thing on her mind is making friends. After all, they might find out her secrets…" It's the most wonderful time of the year on Castle Street, and there's a paw-some new business opening.... Because of her past she has not let anyone into her life for over ten years, except for her giant house rabbit named Hercules. If you’ve read my books, I hope you’ve loved the setting and, if you haven’t yet done so, then a very warm welcome to Whitsborough Bay! When we write about a setting, most authors will do so visually and that’s absolutely needed. But a setting is truly brought to life when we use the other senses because the combination of senses are what really transports the readers into our world.

I’m always mindful of the changing seasons and how they affect the weather, the light, the colours, giving the setting a potentially different feel.

Having really enjoyed Searching for Steven, I was very curious to see what Jessica Redland's new book would be like. Imagine my delight when I see that it centres around Elise, who is Sarah's best friend, and as a result we get to see more of Sarah who I really liked in the first book, and more of various characters that I already knew. Christmas at The Chocolate Pot Café is a charming and emotive read, filled with wonderful characters. Yet, when I started writing, Whitsborough Bay didn’t exist. I didn’t actually have a setting at all. I had a vague notion that I would probably set my books in ‘the north’. Somewhere. No idea where. This is about Tara learning to appreciate and open up to those around her. It's about accepting the good and the bad in her past, and being happy with who she is now. It's about the importance of friendship; and making the best positive contribution you can to the world. I couldn't be happier to be keeping Boldwood as my writing home for at least my next twelve books and am excited to see where the future takes us,” Jessica added.
