Description

To pray with confidence, we must humble ourselves and turn away from sin, anger, bitterness and grudges: As we continue, let’s explore the second point, that we ask according to His will. For many believers, this is a new concept, and yet it’s a very encouraging promise given to us in the Scriptures. Actually, there are hundreds of promises in the Scriptures for us to pray, but we’ll touch on just a few here. As a child of God you have the opportunity for an instant audience with the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the President of presidents. Whatever the need, whatever the time, His calendar is cleared to be with you; His schedule is open for your appointment; His full attention is devoted to you. The Untapped Power of the Holy Spirit

Strong's 2192: To have, hold, possess. Including an alternate form scheo skheh'-o; a primary verb; to hold.

“It’s Not Fair” Prayer Letters

My routine usually starts off with prayer where I welcome God’s presence into my worship session. I then incorporate a few praise and worship songs followed by either a devotional or a chapter from the bible. This is where a journal comes in handy where you can reflect on the passage or devotional you just read. There are such beautiful promises in the Bible. Go through the bible and find prayers on topics such as healing and thanksgiving, then during times when you are not too sure what to pray, pray those bible promises over your life. Don’t be afraid to personalize scripture and claim God’s promises. When you are certain of your right-standing in Christ, it provides you with a foundation on which to stand. You are convinced of what God has promised you. You have a certainty that when you pray, God hears you and will do as you have asked. This means you don’t need to feel sheepish or embarrassed when you come to Jesus’ throne of grace. You can come boldly to seek mercy in your time of need. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

So how can we waive our reluctance and make the effort to pray aloud? Here are a few simple bullets to get you started: No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13 This coming Sunday, September 10th, we will start a new sermon series in the book of Acts called Through the Church. With this study, we hope to be assured that God advances his mission to make Jesus Christ known through local churches.Within the flow of the Acts narrative we meet one of the churches Paul ministered to, and, through which God, makes Jesus known to all the earth: the church in Ephesus. In the letter Paul wrote to them he gives a moving prayer report (Ephesians 3:14-21).Paul prays that God, by his Spirit, would give the Ephesians strength to know Christ’s mighty heart for them, so that they might become all that God intends. In verses 14-15 of his prayer report, Paul gives the Ephesians three reasons he prays with confidence to the Father on their behalf. For these reasons we too can pray expectantly to the Father for our church. This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

So use your God-given authority without flinching as you boldly and unashamedly put God in remembrance of His promises. He is waiting to hear your voice of authority! MY PRAYER FOR TODAY PNW Ep: 69 How to make prayer a lifestylePrayer by EM BoundsWalking with God through Pain and Suffering by Tim KellerWant a journal designed to help you focus in prayer? Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me.

I want us to run too. Not just on the pavement, but in our prayer lives. I want us to not feel so burdened by distractions or doubts. I want us to feel confident as we pray and develop a consistency that can’t be stopped by every noise or to-do on our list. Whatever that is, I pray You would show them that and that the words that we had in this conversation would be ways to practically allow them to step forward in a deeper walk with You, no matter what. Mark 11:25, NIV And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. More: Letting go and Letting God

Finally, sometimes we aren’t even sure how to pray or what promise to hold onto. In this case, we can take comfort in a verse from Romans: But beyond simply seeing our audible prayer as a duty, we should also see it as our privilege and a valuable means of serving one another — even as a joy. When we pray together, we encourage one another by our faith, we teach one other by our theology, we love one other by our concern, and we point one another to the God who tenderly receives the feeble cries of his beloved children. How We Can Father, as I start this week, I give myself to you, Lord. Forgive me for the times I have gone against your will. I dedicate this week to you, so that I may go through it in strength and confidence. May doubt never stop me from living as you command. Give me the power and energy to do good things and the confidence and assurance that it will all be rewarded in heaven. Amen.
