When playing an 'Upgrade 2' card, you MAY upgrade a crystal on your caravan 1 level and then upgrade a crystal 1 level again. It is not mandatory to upgrade all crystals from an Upgrade card. In 2017 Emerson Matsuuchi created a game called Century: Spice Road. A resource swapping game that not only had a fun and easy to learn mechanic of trading resources for goods but also highlighted the historical importance of the Silk Road as merchants could make their way across Europe and Asia similarly trading goods. That game then got a re-theme as Century: Golem Edition placing it in the fantasy world of Caravanie where players now seek to build their own troupe of Golems.

Weight-wise, the Century/Golem games come in at around the gateway, gateway-plus category. They’re easy to learn… but difficult to master. As a game in its own right, An Endless World provides a pleasant array of variety with every play. But an appealing add-on with the Century games runs tue with the Golem Editions, too. This series can intertwine with one another to create hybrid games. You can combine any two of the Golem games to create a blend of gameplay. Or you can integrate all three for a giant (or should that be golem-sized?) game! Another recommendation from my wife, who it turns out was physically incapable of being limited to one board game, Dixit is something a little different and is sure to bring out your creative side. On each turn in Dixit one player is the storyteller, and they must choose one of the six cards in their hand, make up a sentence based on that card's image, and say it out loud without showing the card to the other players. It was a parallel option to the original Century: Spice Road, with a Manga-style art theme. Century: Eastern Wonders became the second game in the Century series of games. Century: Golem Edition Eastern Mountains is the second, therefore, in this Golem trilogy! The artwork for Century: Golem Edition is absolutely gorgeous. Each Merchant Card comes with it a beautiful depiction of the different characters of the game trading crystals with one another or finding themselves in deep caves or hanging precariously off a cliff to recover more crystals. My favorite aspect of the game's design is the look and themes of the Golems. Each Golem looks like it's been specifically designed for a different purpose. There's a golem for herding sheep, playing music, and even one that's into topiary. Before you even get into playing a game of Century: Golem Edition be sure to take a peruse through all of the different Golem types. Too much good artwork to enjoy What are our final thoughts on Century: Golem Edition? Figyelem! Not only is it fun and easy to play on a weekend or after work, but it's a really stunning game too - from the gorgeous Golem illustrations to the multi-coloured crystals and elaborate coins that each player uses.Inkább újra design-olt, mert mechanikailag mintha teljesen ugyanaz lenne. At the end of a player's turn, if that player has more than 10 crystals on his caravan, he must return the exceeding crystals of his choice to the diamond-shaped bowls. In Century: Golem Edition, players are caravan leaders who travel the famed golem road to deliver crystals to the far reaches of the world. Players will take it in turns to can take market cards which entitles them to specific crystals before trading or harvest their crystals, with the aim being saving up their crystals to spend on Golem cards, with each Golem card worth a different number of points. An Endless World was designed by Matsuuchi, who has worked on every game in the Century series so far - either as lead designer or a co-creator - as well as family board game Reef and hidden movement stealth game Specter Ops. Like the complete Century trilogy, the game will allow for four different game modes, depending on whether it’s played standalone or combined with the other Golem Edition titles. This recommendation comes from my wife, to whom I can only apologise because asking her to choose just one game is basically a form of torture. If your idea of family bonding is not saying a word and squinting intensely at each other instead, The Mind is for you - and it's a lot more fun than I've just made it sound.

Turns stream by so fast that we end up in a traffic jam when one player is active before the previous one has taken their crystals. My three-upgrade card proves so flexible that it wins me the game. Everyone thinks this is most unfair. If you claim the leftmost or second leftmost Point card, take one copper or silver token from above that card.
