About this deal

Aired last night in the UK, like many, I too was eagerly awaiting for the finale of Game of Thrones. It’s just that popular media glorifies the overnight success, making us impatient little humans who do our best to avoid pain.

Suddenly, someone wanting to move faster or just join your path seems to selfishly dump a bunch of work on you, work meant for two people. He also expects you to do in half the time. The other very important message I took awaywas one that good will always overcome bad or evil, doing the right thing, each and every time, being humble and doing your best for yourself and others will always prevail Shortly after the hives manifested, I began exploring the lessons my body was trying to teach me. I have come to understand that this experience is another opportunity to bring more awareness to myself in this moment and to accept that I am exactly where I need to be. When I embrace these opportunities to learn more about myself, my needs, and my body instead of ignoring the lessons or wishing they would just stop, I feel more empowered and hopeful.

You then bring yourself into the flow of life. And you will find yourself to be the right person, in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, with the right people!

I guess breaking this down it means you are where you are based on the decisions, actions and choices you’ve made in your life. You may not know right now, but to get where you need to sometimes the logic doesn’t compute. I guess in those moments you have to trust in faith and your vision. The place to begin or start, is with the simple practice of bringing our full awareness and attention to the physical sensations of the in-breath and out-breath as often as we can. We have to stop telling ourselves that we are failing. We have to stop telling ourselves that we won’t make it because we haven’t yet. We have to stop telling ourselves that we are losing. Because there’s nothing to lose. Just because you aren’t where you think you should be in your life doesn’t mean you’re not exactly where you are meant to be. This very basic practice teaches us patience, strengthens our equanimity (the ability to not interfere with -but rather be with whatever arises), builds our concentration power and focus, and - certainly in my own experience - over time -teaches us about compassion and humility. We can’t anticipate what exactly is going to happen, but we can control how we react to where we are, even when we haven’t met our own expectations or don’t feel as satisfied as our newsfeeds suggest. I love what Winston Churchill said about success – that it is “just going from one failure to another without losing momentum.” It’s nothing personal. But oftentimes when we have big goals for ourselves, we need to become the person that can achieve them. Oftentimes, this means shedding the “old” you and stepping into the “new” you. Everyone in life is on their own unique path, and people may serve you well at certain points of your life. However, if it’s time to make space and it’s time to welcome in new people that are aligned with you, then there is no room for things that are no longer worth your time. If you are constantly growing into the person that you want to become, then you are on the right path. 8. You are genuinely happy. The real measure of success is more about the degree that you live your life with integrity. Are you becoming who you were really meant to be?

How often do we think we are not where we are supposed to be, not doing what we are supposed to do, not feeling like we are supposed to feel? Because right where you are in this moment—even in all this imperfection and mess and steps still left to take—is exactly where you’re supposed to be. If you’re experiencing any of the above, you are exactly where you need to be, as you’ll discover shortly. London part two That’s why, whenever I start to panic because I’m not where I thought I was going to be at this point in my life, I remind myself that my story’s not over. I’m still in the middle of it, and that means a lot of success (and failure!) is still ahead of me. 4. Wherever you are is exactly where you’re meant to be.

5. You feel like you are exactly where you should be.

What intentional choices can you make to honor the opportunities to learn and grow by being exactly where you are? No one talks about Henry Ford filing bankruptcy a bunch of times before making it, but those are the stories we really need to keep us going when we start doubting ourselves. Someone’s story could start with “I’m homeless and living in my car” and turn into “I won a Grammy” or “I went public with my company” – huge and extreme things like that. So, how do we come to be more at ease,as Jon Kabat-Zinn says 'with the full catastrophe' of our lives and all the varied circumstances and twists and turns that surround us - and still know that wherever we are, is exactly where we should be?
