After reading this book I have come to a conclusion: mafia romances are not meant for someone like me, someone who can't see women being shown like their choices does not matter. We don't even think about that word that starts with f and has men in between and ends with ism (I'm definitely not talking about feminism because according to this book (or you can say in the mafia world) this word does not exist). THIS BOOK IS DIVIDED INTO 2 PARTS — Part 1 revolves around different timelines in Gianna's POV, and Part 2 is the present, after "The Sweetest Oblivion."

There was some miscommunication between Elena and Nicolas but it was never frustrating for me, and it never kept them apart. I loved all the characters from both sides of the family and I hope they all get their own story. I really really hope Sebastian gets his own book!

They are my new favorite couple. The little mind games were top of the world 😆 I will undoubtedly re-read this book countless times and also I will wish that I could read it for the first time. Elena, the sweet Abelli, is the perfect combination of sass, beauty, wit but also she had manners, compassion, and kindness. and even besides Nico, i loved these characters. the Abelli family is hilarious. Nonna is such a mood and had me gasping for air at times 😂 All of a sudden, it went quiet. I opened my eyes against the darkness and hugged Teddy tighter to my chest so that he couldn’t see the terror on my face. but in all seriousness, this has one of the BEST sexual tension i've ever read. it was also so never-ending in the beginning that even i was more frustrated than the MCs. so yes, this was kind of a slow burn and I LOVE IT.

Elena was equally obsessed with him! She was fascinated by him and desperately wanted his attention! She was really mature, not annoying at all, and knew how to stand her ground! She was also possessive of Nico! 🥵Delicious. Absolutely, incredibly delicious. Danielle Lori does sexual tension like nobody else. Her writing style is incredible, and dammit I can’t find enough worthy adjectives to describe it. Why didn’t you come meet the Russo after church today?” She pointed her spoon at me. “I’m not buying the act that you forgot and were waiting innocently in the car.” I had to get out of this goddamned house before I did something stupid, like demand she forget every man she’d ever met but me. Adriana was a little strange, but attractive. If you took her away from her sister, she was stunning; if she stood next to Elena, she’d blend into the wallpaper. Expectation's a BITCH. After all the praises I've seen about this book, my expectations were ginormous and that's never a good thing. I enjoyed the book, but I didn't love it.

There is nothing that brings me more joy than seeing Gianna's witty answers and Christian's dry responses to everything she says.
