Option to plug USB class-compliant interfaces directly in for DAW-less recording of vocals and instruments Given the MPC One Plus has the same RAM, CPU and software features as the original MPC One, this is really quite a tame update, so you’ll have to decide whether the new features are worth the outlay. This is a compact unit with various advanced features; for instance, you can connect a MIDI interface or external audio for recording the sessions. It is an all-in-one sequencer and sampler and is powered by MPC Software 2. The Live II, because of its time-stretching capabilities. And ideally, the X, because it’s more “fullstudio”-like. Reply

yo, this is a dope comparison. i understand the pads on the one are smaller, but do they have the same construction/feel as the live and X? thanks for taking the time Reply Best ‘Beats on the go’ Option: With its internal battery and speakers the MPC Live II is definitely the most naturally suited to making music whenever the mood takes you, snd with its decent array of audio ports and flexible MIDI options it’s equally at home in the studio. If the MPC One Plus didn’t exist I’d be recommending the MPC Live II to everyone, but as it stands I just think that unless you really need those extra ports and are going to make good use of that internal battery, the MPC One edges it with its comparable features, ultra-portability and significantly lower price, and don’t forget it can be used with an external rechargeable battery if you really need that additional portability. You can connect up to 32 class-compliant USB MIDI controllers to the MPC One (running at least Firmware v2.8). A powered USB hub can be connected to the One's USB A port to expand the USB I/O up to 32 MIDI ports. To ensure full-range sensitivity, it’s important to turn on the full level and make adjustments to the threshold and sensitivity settings (these settings are available in the preferences section).

The MPC One Plus does not support adding an internal hard drive so here I would recommend a large, high quality SD card (or micro SD card placed in a suitable adapter) which you can just leave in your SD card slot at all times. Please note that the MPC Key does not support SD cards, which is really odd. MIDI devices can be connected via the traditional MIDI DIN ports, via bluetooth, or via USB (up to 32 devices via a USB hub). You can also connect USB-to-MIDI interfaces to increase the available MIDI DIN ports. The MPC One Plus features all the functionality we’ve come to expect from MPC products. Every control is thoroughly designed to enhance your workflow, helping you to be more creative than ever before. Four touch-sensitive controls and a large data encoder map directly to critical parameters. Combined with sixteen velocity and pressure sense pads that deliver the perfect response to every touch. Akai has also included mainstays found across the MPC range including Note Repeat, Full Level, 16 Levels and dedicated Transport Controls to complete the MPC One Plus’s expressive feature set. Studio connectivity Another area where these MPCs all differ is overall the layout of elements. Both the MPC One Plus and the MPC X SE place the screen directly above the pads, while the MPC Live II and MPC Key place the pads to the left of the screen. Q-Links are on the left for the MPC X, but on the right of the screen for all other MPCs. Function buttons are also arranged somewhat differently on each unit (and perhaps a little bit arbitrary). Wireless internet – if you don’t have an ethernet port in your studio but have wifi, a wireless repeater could be the solution. If you get a portable/travel repeater, you can take it around with your MPC One to any location. just make sure the repeater features a built in ethernet port. The repeater will latch on to any nearby wifi signal and will provide internet and network access to your MPC One via the ethernet port. On the other hand, the program edit window helps layer up four samples on every pad, and you can use amp envelopes and filters for every pad.

The heart and soul of the MPC One Retro is the same multi-core processor as the MPC X, skilfully combined into a compact standalone desktop unit that easily handles the most demanding tasks. MPC One Retro delivers a truly empowering hands-on experience, ready for any music production task. Edit and chop samples with hand gestures on the bright 7-inch touch screen colour display. Express your ideas effortlessly and directly with the dedicated knobs and touch keys that eliminate cumbersome drop-down menus. MPC Mainstays I find it hard to justify paying roughly the same price as a brand new fully warrantied ONE for a used Live but I do like the idea of the battery and phono inputs. Absolutely! The MPC Live will be fully compatible with projects, programs, and sequences from previous MPC versions and legacy hardware MPC's such as the MPC5000, MPC4000, MPC3000, MPC2500/2500XL, MPC1000, and MPC500. Synchronise any compatible device over WiFi using Ableton Link. Perfect for jamming or syncing without the need of a lot of cables.Solution home Akai Pro | MPC Series MPC Series | Frequently Asked Questions Akai Pro MPC One | Frequently Asked Questions All content will need to be stored on a USB drive or SD card before transferring to the internal storage on the MPC One.
