This year’s awards boast categories specially devoted to those who have gone out of their way to support others during the pandemic. The station launched on April 2 and will broadcast for the next 30 days with a host of programmes catered for an Islamic audience. From 2 January we’ll be featuring significant albums reviewed 2003-2023 in our featured album sequences as part of GRTR!@20

Self-development has been instrumental for me, and this has inspired the foundation of Sister2Sister.

Our aim is to make Ramadan Radio self-sustainable and provide opportunities for members of our community to take part in making local radio, to encourage and promote a voice for those who are under-represented or socially excluded, to provide an outlet for creativity, shared vision and expression for everyone in our local communities. Ramadan Radio Wolves will broadcast from its studio in Wolverhampton as the city's Muslim community begins preparations for the holy month. In January 2022 Chantel was appointed as my Executive Assistant which meant that she carried half of my workload. With Chantel on board I was enabled to work on the vision of the business and also to look after my health. Allyson responded to the call from the British Government for people from the colonies to train and work in Britain as it was ravaged by the Second World war. In May 1969, Allyson arrived in London to study nursing and midwifery as she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps, as she loved the passion and dedication that her mother showed for her own career. She wanted to feel the same way about her career. She was unprepared for the hostile reception and overt racism she received in her training. However, she eventually overcame this hurdle and with hard work and commitment, she achieved her goals. Pete noted something special, if not quite fully formed. Since that time we’ve followed Chantel (suitably distanced of course) and she’s matured into an artist of real substance.

The event will include a presentation of Chantel’s work through book readings, drama, music and testimonials plus a workshop for all ages on how to turn a journal into a book. Chantel Hall Reid, what can I say: I met Chantel during the Covid-19 pandemic when she was inspired to write an uplifting book. Chantel is a prolific reader and a writer with multiple styles to suit a vast range of readers. Imani’s Diary is her first creation, and an excellent book for young people and adults alike, with snapshots of the 90’s giving the readers a nostalgic, hilarious and authentic experience. As a brand Ambassador for the publishing house, Chantel has contributed to the review and evaluation of our Academy and developed the Academy programme. We know how much the work means to us and we pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding programme.Added to that are dialogues with qualified experts on religion as well as interviews and interfaith work.
