Studio Series has always allowed fans to reach past the big screen and build the ultimate Transformers collection inspired by iconic movie scenes from the Transformers movie universe. Now, the Studio Series line is expanding to include the epic moments and characters from the classic 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, bringing fans a whole new series of screen-inspired figures to collect! (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

This character article is a stub and is missing information on their video game appearances. You can help Transformers Wiki by expanding it. I have nothing but praise to offer this magnificent action figure. Grindor is extremely accurate to how he appeared in the film. Attention to detail on the figure is amazing. The robot mode's articulation is outstanding; you can get him into all kinds of cool poses as you have him square off against whatever autobots dare try to take him on! Alt mode is similarly spectacular; for me the helicopter invokes much nostalgia due to its excellent accuracy and attention to detail. As for the transformation itself, complex but fun and unbelievably well engineered. I am absolutely blown away at how awesome this figure is. Definitely money well spent and I can safely say that I will be on the lookout for more studio series figures now that I know how well crafted they are!

Sideways's toys and merchandise are not licensed by Audi, and are thus merely approximations of the R8. However, Sideways's appearance in the Revenge of the Fallen video games is fully licensed, so he is accurate to the car used in the film and has Audi's logos and signage. Sideways was a crew member aboard the Nemesis during its mission to scour the galaxy for a Star Harvester. He was apparently wounded when the Ark warped into their ship and damaged it, as he was heard calling out for the ship medic in the aftermath. Alongside the rest of the crew, Sideways then boarded the Longshot and pursued the Ark to Earth. Convergence chapter 1 Unite for the Universe I know he's in scale, but this is the first time a figure's size has truly bothered me in this line, because there's just so much great detail here that you need to get in real close to see and appreciate. ICONIC MODES: Figure features classic conversion between robot and licensed Chevrolet Corvette Stingray modes in 19 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up That was his huge difference between him and every other autobot...he rolled around like he was on skates..in rotf with the sideways scene his feet were highlighted well. It's a huge part of sideswipe to see wheel feet....and this figure just does not at all.

Transformation is pretty fun and not too complicated, though there are two issues I have with it. First, a lot of parts "collide," unlike Jazz I worry more about the paint rubbing off on this guy. Sideways operated as a high-speed reconnaissance operative with the ability to snipe at Autobot opponents from afar with his plasma sniper rifle, engage them up-close with his rapid-firing slag repeater, and slow enemies to a crawl with his graviton mine when he needed to get away. He uses a pair of saws in melee combat. While in many ways simply a larger version of the Deluxe toy, it has several changes. The wheeled feet may now fold out into a stand system, allowing Sideswipe to stand without having to balance on the wheels, or be left as is to retain a more rounded look, and his blades are now rubberized to prevent injury and damage, as the blades lay flat underneath in vehicle mode. The sword-hands can also be slotted into a gear system connected to the front wheels, which causes them to spin as the wheels are turned. The passenger's seat may either be used as a seat for Epps, or turned into a missile launcher slung over Sideswipe's left shoulder. Despite Studio Series' prominently featured numbering system, there are several numbers missing from the line, as of writing these being: 86-18 and 94. Additionally, 79, 86-13, 86-20, 86-24, 95, 96, and 102 are missing, but are assigned to the Buzzworthy Bumblebee version of the line, though it is unclear if there are any plans for them to be released in the regular Studio Series line as well. 74 Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee is the only set so far to be re-released in the regular line after debuting in Buzzworthy Bumblebee. His 2011 Hasbro bio gave him a new quote (one based on what he'd said in the Titan issue quoted up top!) along with a revamped bio that factored in his sniping ability from the console version of the Revenge of the Fallen video game. [7] According to designer Hisashi Yuki, the wheels on the hands were a rushed late addition due to a design change in the movie character model. [5] This is why the hand tires are not integrated more properly into the toy. What should have happened what some clear plastic "shoes" you could clip on his feet for posing. Give him a small toe like side arm (so he could be posed without the clear feet) and make him look like he did in the movie...falling over wheel feet or not. He was made available the UK as a Sainsbury's exclusive, and in Australia and New Zealand as a Kmart exclusive.

This item is currently scheduled for release, but is not yet available at mass retail. Hatchet, Hound The AllSpark Almanac Volume 2 reveals that a Sideways paid a visit to the Animated universe; while inhabiting that universe, his body form bore minor similarities to Revenge of the Fallen Sideways, and he showed an interest in visiting Shanghai. The book only asserts this intention, not that he actually traveled there, nor does it specify which universe's Shanghai he meant—there is no unambiguous proof that such a jaunt was made and that the two Sidewayses are the same character. Author Jim Sorenson characterized the book as being meant to match the Animated series' penchant for "in-jokes and Easter Eggs", [4] suggesting that he might not have meant it to be taken seriously. Sorenson as Vector Prime later classified Sideways as a non-Singularity, noting the separate status of the numerous Sideways from the movieverse. Along with Breakaway, Sideways was initially released in two color schemes, a light silver version and a less common very dark silver version. If you move the headlights, doors and legs of the lighter Sideways to the darker one, allowing for a dark hood and roof, and silver everywhere else, it helps to make for a slightly more movie-accurate Sideways. However, the stripes will still be missing. Sideswipe's MechTech weapon, a large blaster, can convert to a runed Cybertanium sword with the press of a button. The weapon can be stored in any of the three MechTech ports in either mode, all of which include the spring-loaded filler piece to hide them when not in use. While the box art shows the blade of the flip-out sword painted blue with white Cybertronix runes, the final version opts for bare gunmetal plastic instead. The design of Sideways's vehicle mode appears to be based off an Audi R8 tuned by APR, that was on display at the Michelin booth at SEMA 2007.

Like all Human Alliance figures, Sideswipe is designed to allow his accompanying human figure, in this case Robert Epps, to ride inside. INCH SCALE SIDESWIPE: Figure features vivid, movie-inspired deco, is highly articulated for posability, and comes with 2 blaster and 2 blade accessories When Audi was looking to win screen time for one of its cars in the summer films during 2009, Ruben Igielko-Herrlich, a marketing consultant from Propaganda Global Entertainment Marketing, helped the company to find an opportunity in Revenge of the Fallen. Ruben talked the movie's staff into finding a role for the Audi R8. Ultimately, an Audi R8 appears in the film as Sideways. Thus, Sideways became the only car Transformer in the movie whose alternate mode is not manufactured by General Motors. [8]He later collected some loose Energon around an airport in East Asia and a nuclear silo in the Sahara desert, and also assisted in reviving Megatron. Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots/Decepticons Deluxe Class figures are 4.5-inch collectible action figures inspired by iconic movie scenes and designed with specs and details to reflect the Transformers movie universe, now including The Transformers: The Movie! STUDIO SERIES DELUXE CLASS: Deluxe Class figures are 4.5-inch collectible action figures inspired by iconic movie scenes and designed with specs and details to reflect the Transformers movie universe, now including The Transformers: The Movie! Got this one today, I have had all the versions of movie sideswipe, this one is pretty damn good. Jazz quality. But the Studio Series Sideswipe is definitely the better of all three in my opinion. He is not too overly complicated to transform, he can actually stand pretty good but it does take a few times standing him to get the hang of it (got to adjust the toes just right), highly poseable, and he has both gun and sword options. I love the fact the swords can detatch if you want to replicate the scene in ROTF where he cut Sidesways in two.
