Description

Ibuprofen gel is a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel to relieve pain and inflammation in your body. It is most commonly used for the relief of: Neonates, infants born prematurely, those with low birth weight, those with an unstable gastrointestinal function or who have serious illnesses may require special consideration. For any infant, if a drug is prescribed to the nursing mother, it should be at the lowest practical dose and for the shortest time. When drug administration is unavoidable and breastfeeding is to continue, minimisation of exposure of the infant to the drug may sometimes be achieved by timing the maternal doses to just after a feeding episode. Infants exposed to drugs via breast milk should be monitored for unusual signs or symptoms. Interactions between the drug received by the infant from the mother's milk and medication prescribed for the infant should also be considered, for example, when the drug given to the infant may prevent metabolism of the drug received via breast milk. Oral NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, can sometimes be associated with renal impairment, aggravation of active peptic ulcers, and can induce allergic bronchial reactions in susceptible asthmatic patients. Although the systemic absorption of topically applied ibuprofen is less than for oral dosage forms, these complications can occur in rare cases. For these reasons, patients with an active peptic ulcer, a history of kidney problems or asthma should seek medical advice before using Ibuprofen gel as should patients already taking other painkillers. It is strongly recommended that the UK National Poisons Information Service be consulted on cases of suspected or actual overdose where there is doubt over the degree of risk or about appropriate management. Active ingredient: Ibuprofen 10% w/w, Also contains: IMS, Carbomers, Diethylamine and Purified Water Warnings For people who find it difficult to swallow tablets or capsules, ibuprofen is available as a tablet that melts in your mouth, granules that you mix with a glass of water to make a drink, and as a liquid. What is the strongest ibuprofen gel?

If you're taking ibuprofen for a short-lived pain like toothache or period pain, you may only need to take it for a day or two.

Each ibuprofen tablet or capsule contains 200mg, 400mg or 600mg of ibuprofen. Slow-release tablets and capsules contain 200mg, 300mg or 800mg of ibuprofen.Because this product is delivered through the skin, directly over the painful area, there is less risk of the complications that sometimes occur when ibuprofen (or a similar anti-inflammatory painkiller) is taken by mouth. However, in rare cases you may be at risk: generalised allergic skin reactions involving itch, swelling, inflammation, redness and perhaps blistering and light sensitivity; Do not use Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel Maximum Strength: • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients in this product listed ; • if you are asthmatic, or suffer from rhinitis (allergic runny nose) or urticaria (hives) and have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs in the past; • if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; • on broken, damaged, infected or diseased skin; • if you have severe joint pain of recent onset that is not related to an injury or period of overuse; • if you feel ill, have a temperature or any other symptoms that accompany the pain. Before applying this product for the first time, make sure it is suitable for you to use:
