His full name is Gerald Malcolm Durrell. Born January 7, 1925, in India, his family settled in Corfu when he was young and this gave Gerald some opportunity to study the wildlife there. He put these experiences into a trilogy that started off with My Family and Other Animals. He would follow it with two more, the last of which being titled The Garden of the Gods.
