Description

The remake obviously came after a shitload of other zombie movies, including a nonsensical Italian movie where people were teleporting and the ending seems to be just random scraps of film left over. So, the people who made that were smart and said, Hey, let's just skip the part where people are in disbelief and skeptical. Shortly after his first encounter with Mabel, Gideon fell head over heels for her, and continually attempts to get Mabel to return the feeling through various schemes, but to no avail. Despite his crush, Gideon seeks revenge on Mabel and her family (whom he views as the only thing standing between a successful relationship). Mabel, on the other hand, finds Gideon to be creepy and unattractive, not to mention totally evil, and despises him and every attempt he makes to enact his vengeance. Awesome book with lots to love! If you’re a fan of horror and/or you like a strange story you should definitely go for this! I highly recommend this one and can’t wait for the next volume! Andrea Sorrentino’s art is surprisingly underwhelming given his usual quality work, though to be fair he’s not given anything very exciting to draw – lots of mundane everyday stuff for the most part. The visual spectacles are reserved for the batshit final chapter though when Sorrentino’s allowed to cut loose, drawing some remarkable, abstract stuff as the priest and some others venture into Lemire’s cut-price Upside Down. The second thing that bothers me, I'm bored. When I know exactly what's happening and the characters don't, and when a significant portion of the plot regards the period between the characters noticing the fishy thing and then getting to the level of knowledge I am as a viewer, that's all boring time.

The book does come at a higher price – this in itself is not a deterrent given the amount of content and presentation. Nevertheless, fans who have already collected the single issues, or softcover graphic novels, may not want to shell out for the new edition. Where Can I Read It?Lil' Gideon is a child psychic and self-promoter of his own tourist trap, the Tent of Telepathy. He's adorable but has a dark side. Personality [ ]

Father Fred is a troubled priest who has been assigned to a parish in the remote, rustic town of Gideon Falls, after the previous priest mysteriously disappeared. After he receives a vision of the priest, whose dead body is found soon after, Fred starts to investigate the mysteries of the town. Lost Lenore: Rebecca, one of Father Fred's old parishioners in Colorado. The two carried out an extramarital affair until Rebecca's husband found out, causing her to commit suicide and turning Father Fred into the vagrant alcoholic he is today. A small town desperate for help, the inhabitants get more than they bargained for in Father Wilfred, or “Fred,” an “untethered” priest with a drinking problem who arrives into the town as an outsider.

Cover A

This is one of the weirdest comics I’ve read in awhile. This might actually be even weirder than The Sandman but still manages to make sense so I love it. Sorrentino's art is essential here - shifting between an oppressively gritty style to explosions of mind-bending surrealism - the illustrations here really do set the tone and help indicate changes in pace in very clever ways.
