BBC Sport also has live coverage on its digital platforms of every single game of the Under-20 Six Nations and will broadcast every game of the Women's Six Nations alongside BBC TV when it begins on 25 March. Additional Programming Move up the frequency range and the steps up in articulation and clarity are striking. Voices come through with greater subtlety, and it’s easier to hear changes in intonation and phrasing. The Series 2 offers a clearer view of the recording and sounds more balanced overall.

The BBC will provide rugby fans with live match coverage, comprehensive highlights and the best analysis and discussion from legends of the game throughout the tournament. There have been plenty of comings and goings amongst the clubs competing. Here is our RFU Championship team-by-team guide, with our thoughts on how each club will fare this season. RFU Championship team-by-team guide 2021-22 season Ampthill Rugby Union legends Martin Johnson, Sam Warburton, John Barclay and Tommy Bowe will provide studio insight and analysis BBC Sport Northern Ireland will have live commentary of all of Ireland’s games in the Six Nations on BBC Sounds. Gavin Andrews will introduce the coverage via BBC Radio Ulster starting with the first round of matches on Saturday 4 February as Ireland take on Wales at the Principality Stadium. Jim Neilly will be on commentary alongside ex-Ireland fly-half Tony Ward with Eddie O’Sullivan, Claire McLaughlin, David Humphreys and Chris Henry providing analysis over the course of this year’s Championship. BBC Scotland

Opening game of the tournament (Wales v Ireland) live on BBC One, alongside other mouth-watering ties including Wales v England on February 25 Coverage begins on the BBC as Wales face Ireland in the opening game of the tournament, with Gabby Logan presenting live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. All Scotland games will be live on BBC Radio Scotland Extra on BBC Sounds, on BBC Radio Scotland 810 MW. BBC Television Six Nations Schedule As always, the Blues will be looking to play the most exciting rugby in the division, meaning that any trip to the market town is well worth it if you’re keen to see an enthralling display of rugby. We're delighted to confirm Defence Coach Rob Powell has been promoted to the role of Richmond Head Coach ahead of the @Champrugby season.Signed on a full-time basis is Joe Jones from Doncaster Knights, the former Wales U20 prop also having spent time with Sale Sharks, Cardiff Blues and Perpignan in his career. Ryan Olowofela joins from Northampton Saints, while Harry Simmons comes to the Stade Santander on loan from Leicester Tigers. James Flynn, Alex Humfrey and Will Brown all most recently represented Ampthill, James Mitchell comes in from Doncaster Knights, Will Lane from Loughborough Students and Huw Owen from Pontypridd. With the likes of Craig Hampson, Craig Willis, Will Davis, Simon Uzokwe, Bobby de Wee and Rayn Smid all remaining at Vallis Way, it certainly seems like now or never for Ealing in their hunt for promotion. Opting out of the 2020-21 season, Matt Williams’s first year as director of rugby has certainly been a long time in the making.

Ideally, you should place the speakers at least 50cm into the room and well away from side walls if possible. Use the bungs only if you have to, because things sound less natural and fluid with them inserted into the speakers. A slight angling towards the listening position helps to firm up the stereo image. Given the modest nature of the engineering changes we weren’t expecting much of a difference in the sound. We were wrong. While retaining a broadly similar sonic character, the 606 S2 Anniversary Edition prove significantly more capable than their predecessors. As well as providing audiences with extensive live coverage, highlights, reaction and news, BBC Sport’s digital services will be home to an array of ways to engage with the upcoming Six Nations. Some feel the RFU is trying to have its cake and eat it. There is unlikely to be any word before the end of February at the earliest, for example, as to how many sides will be promoted from the National Leagues this April. We do know the Championship will have 12 teams next season (this season’s bottom side will not be relegated) but, depending on whether Ealing Trailfinders or Doncaster Knights finish top and also satisfy the minimum standards criteria (another saga in itself) to go up, there is still no clarity over whether one or two sides will be promoted from National One. Or, even more pertinently, any firm guarantees about funding levels after 2024. And so on and so forth. There is still fun to be had in playing abbreviated or different forms of the game but the post-Covid pips are increasingly squeaking for any club looking to operate at a decent semi-pro level. One recent survey suggested a fall from 259,600 active adult players in England in 2016 to only 95,100 at the end of last season. Covid and funding cuts have also left Championship sides touching the void. This month, after much deliberation, the Championship Review group will make recommendations to the RFU management board on what it believes the future should look like and its findings will be fascinating.

There are plenty of new faces at Lady Bay, but perhaps one of the biggest developments is the club’s performance partnership with Leicester Tigers. This will see the two clubs share coaching resources, along with training and playing opportunities. The biggest differences are heard in the bass. The new version is so much more precise and controlled in this region. On an initial listen it would be easy to conclude that the older model has more weight in this area, but given time it becomes clear that the S2 are cleaner, more insightful and have notably more punch.

Steve Boden and his side would have been disappointed to have not reached the play-off finals after a strong start last season, but they have recruited heavily from other Championship sides this summer. Ahead of every round, BBC Sports News will also preview the weekend’s action in their Friday Sportsday programme (18:30 on the BBC News Channel). BBC Wales The returning Rugby Special will be hosted by Ugo Monye, with Sara Orchard and Alastair Eykyn’s commentary featuring in the programme and BBC highlights generally. Live Match Coverage Throughout the tournament, the BBC Sports News team will provide match reports, while covering the latest stories and developments. Reports will feed into BBC One News, BBC Breakfast and the BBC News Channel. Having finished first overall in the table last season before losing to Saracens in the two-legged play-off final, this season may well be the club’s best chance to make it to the Premiership.Live commentary of all of Wales’ matches during the Six Nations will be on both BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru, as well as live coverage of Wales’ games against Ireland, Scotland and England on BBC One Wales. In a slight adjustment to last season, there will be no play-offs to determine promotion. Instead, the top-placed side at the season’s conclusion will move directly to the Premiership and no team will drop down. Rugby Union highlights programme, Rugby Special with Ugo Monye will return on 5 February. Airing every Sunday during each Six Nations round, Ugo will introduce highlights from every game of the tournament. Andrew Cotter will lead on TV commentary throughout the tournament and will be joined by co-commentators Jonathan Davies and Chris Paterson. For radio, commentary will be led by BBC’s Rugby Union Correspondent Chris Jones and Sara Orchard. Richmond will no doubt be competitive and the fact that they have had game time in recent months means they should not find themselves at the bottom of the table again.
