Description

A term that describes people who experience sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction to people of the same or a similar gender. When the Gender Recognition Act was brought in, lawmakers recognised that it was an extraordinary piece of legislation, and that the implications of section 9, which changes a person’s legally recognised sex “for all purposes”, were unclear:

The fulfilment of sexual health is tied to the extent to which human rights are respected, protected and fulfilled. Sexual rights embrace certain human rights that are already recognized in international and regional human rights documentsSome people experience romantic attraction but don’t experience sexual attraction. Romantic orientation The 2010 COP, in contrast, incorrectly suggested that female customers’ discomfort about the presence of a transsexual in a single-sex health spa should be disregarded. These are voluntary organisations of school leaders, and the new document is no substitute for stronger, clearer guidance from the Department for Education. But it shows that school leaders are recognising that they need to follow legal advice that reflects their obligation to protect all pupils, instead of relying on activist advice focused on the idea of “trans kids”. As the guidance says: It should be made clear to all in the school community that everyone is welcome and included – but it is not “transphobic” to recognise that everyone has a sex. This is crucial for equality, safeguarding and sex and relationships education. “Boys and Girls and the Equality Act” was produced by Sex Matters and Transgender Trend with input from lawyers and teachers. It seeks to provide practical workable advice for how schools can protect everybody’s needs and rights.

Gender identity theory is deeply offensive to many, as is apparent if one compares it to the equally distasteful belief that "anyone should be able to identify as any race they choose, regardless of their skin colour". Women across the globe, especially those fighting for their rights, should not be pressured into using the language of fantasy over the language of physical reality. Concern among policymakers about population growth led to the regulation of women’s sexuality and reproductive choices. Coercion was the mechanism in China, other parts of Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, while numerous awareness raising campaigns and education programmes took place elsewhere. In different attempts to define this term, two aspects are usually taken into account: biological (essentialist approach) and socio-cultural (constructivist approach). Although sexuality has an important biological component - usually related to the imperative of reproduction - other components, such as personal needs and desires, emotions, practices and identities, are of equal, and sometimes greater, importance. The World Health Organisation defines sexuality as:inadequate access to effective remedies and reparation for victims of sexual and reproductive coercion, including past human rights abuse such as forced sterilisation of Roma women in some countries. Despite its growing use, some people still have negative associations with the word and don’t want to be referred to in this way. Queer, like all terms describing sexuality, should be used sensitively and respectfully. Questioning Some LGBTQIA+ people decide to keep their sexuality, gender, or intersex status private, while others decide to share these things with loved ones, acquaintances, or the public.
