Description

All the above made clear that Beryllium was not an option for the driver of A4000 and A3000. So, what was the solution? Final engineers had the idea to start from a humble and underestimated material, such as PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), which many manufacturers use, but in this case Final engineers tried to get the most out of it! How do you do that? By making changes to the voice coil, magnet and housing. The idea behind it is that if we want a driver to have a performance as close to perfect as possible, then all its parts must work as a single unit; if one (or more) of the driver parts has a flaw, then the driver ecosystem as a whole suffers. For competitive shooters, obviously directional hearing (imaging) is a must-have and there is a lot of controversy over stage size when it comes to these kinds of shooters. For similar depth and spatial presence, the Advar from Meze Audio is a fantastic choice. Sound effects and music are easy to localize, and certain sections of dialogue can feel like they are being spoken right to you. The bass has a ton of depth and focuses on solidity and tightness for improved clarity. Its design is one of the best you’ll see too, featuring a great build that feels like you’re wearing a piece of jewelry.

Another entry from Final Audio, the A4000 is clean and wide. The bass here is more natural but doesn’t skimp out on lifting all the sound effects to the right place. With the A4000, you get a good amount of separation between each section of the mix. It makes all the right punches, and should overall be a fun experience for games. VR3000 gaming earphones provide an immersive and open sound experience - ideal for exploring large open-world adventure games, and virtual reality environments with a concentrated sense of direction, perfect for wide open and engrossing gaming environments. Guess what? I was wrong in both! Just a few months ago, Final presented A4000 and A3000, two lower, actually way too lower, value IEMs than A8000. While, on April 26, 2021, Final launched SHICHIKU.KANGEN, which is the next big thing after A8000. Typically, SHICHIKU.KANGEN belongs to the Collaboration series, because it was developed in collaboration with the DITA Audio company; in reality though, it is of the same breed as A8000, at least in regard to its construction, and it costs almost 50% more than the latter. In the binaural headphone test, which is great for testing both individual sound separation and positional audio, the results were very impressive. Each individual voice in the harmony was clearly identified, and you can almost visualise the relative positioning of each singer. The same is true of the instruments, with the multiple acoustic guitars and percussion all occupying a separate place within the soundstage.Car Parts and Accessories, Bike Parts and Accessories, Helmets and other Protective Gear, Vehicle Electronics 30 Days Returnable So for competitive shooters, obviously directional hearing (imaging) is a must-have and there is a lot of controversy over stage size when it comes to these kinds of shooters. While I wouldn’t normally consider using in-ear headphones for console gaming, I was thoroughly impressed with the VR3000, especially when it came to positional audio. They remained comfortable over a four-hour gaming session and didn’t become uncomfortable at any point. Furthermore, Final eartips are very nicely designed, providing a high level of sound isolation, so ambient noise with A4000 or A3000 was never a problem.

Almost clinical and perfect in their sound reproduction at the cost of losing some musicality and sounding sterile at times If you’re looking for some punch to your timbre, the Mojito from Queen of Audio has lots of it. For games, the Mojito offers spaciousness and clarity, with a ton of resonance to communicate the scope of the environment. This is the meatiest IEM on this list so far, and it will help deliver those hard-hitting effects that games can offer. Now, if A4000 is so good, how about A3000? After all, the ingredients, housing, driver and cable, are all the same. True, except for the tuning! Final, with A3000, wanted to create an IEM which has the merits of A4000, as to balance, transparency, soundstage and image, but with a warmer touch. The extra warmth is reflected in the whole of the audio spectrum, and this makes A3000 to be less engaging, but more relaxing. It is not going to make you shake with the music, as A4000 will, but it is perfect for a session of an easy yet quality listening. It is also quite interesting that A3000 is much less dynamic than A4000; I am not sure if this is the result of the warmer sound signature of A3000 or independent of it. The VR3000 has a 6mm brass dynamic driver. Its output impedance of 18 ohms means that any device on this planet will drive them just fine. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Their angular design is quirky and modern, whilst not affecting the functional aspects of the product. A far more suitable use, though, and the reason most people will be looking for in-ear headphones, is mobile gaming and VR. As the name suggests, the VR3000 are very well suited to VR gaming because of the excellent positional audio. They are lightweight and the 1.2m cable and the behind-the-ear wire positioning helps keep them neat, tidy and out of the way of your motion controllers. Although these are very light headphones, weighing just 20g, the construction is solid. There are no visible gaps, and they feel durable. Although there is no official IP rating for water or dust resistance, I would imagine these will withstand sweat or a medium rain shower with no risk of water ingress (though to limit liability I still advise you not to get them wet, as I accept no responsibility for any water damage).

Final Audio set out to do one thing, make the best possible IEM for gaming and I think they did just that. Aside from a few things like having a sturdier cable/different housing shape, these are pretty much the best in-ears you'll ever find for gaming in the current market. There’s a light, three button control unit high up on the right cable length, with an in-built microphone which will let you use them with your mobile phone, or indeed any of the current gaming consoles. The microphone is perfectly useable, but it isn’t going to match up to a dedicated boom mic in terms of definition, and there aren’t any in-built noise gates etc. to set it apart from the crowd. The treble is Where this could be a bit better. Though the overall treble is ok and has enough details, in some cases the treble becomes a bit too loud. Cable - The cable feels light and fragile but is in fact decently sturdy, it does connect via a 2-pin connector to the IEM so there is hopefully the chance for swapping it out. Midrange is clean and I noticed no unpleasant dips or peaks in the response. Vocals are rendered cleanly and pleasantly. Listening to Joni Mitchell or Imogen Heap was a pleasure with these. This is a one of its kind IEM by Final and they should take the inputs carefully k. This and improve further in the next iteration. Attachments The last entry for Moondrop on this list, and ends with a bang. These IEMs deliver an exciting bass response that is so easy to become engrossed in. It will add sweeteners to many different effects, as well as place certain effects all around you with its extended soundstage. Its treble also adds sparkle and height to the sound signature, properly articulating the tallness of some effects. Final Audio has gained a lot of appreciation from me over recent months. The EVA 2020 really convinced me that Final has a lot of show for, and their interesting library of products present a wide array of quality gear. A new Final model has now reached my desk, the VR3000. This is a set of earphones tailored toward gaming which you don’t see a lot of. Most game audio paraphernalia is catered to over-ear headphones with attachable mics and 3D audio. However, not everyone is going to gravitate towards over-ear, and most of the time they can end up being pricier than IEMs. The VR3000 wants to make your game audio simple and affordable, so let’s see how well they accomplish that. The Final Audio VR3000 is a really cool and unique pair of earphones that fill an important niche. While there are a lot of over ear headphones meant for gaming, there are not a lot of earbuds meant to do the same. Whether you’re a VR maniac or just playing games on your phone to pass the time, these are a fine choice that will greatly improve the quality of your experience. Final Audio has met their mark here with flying colors.
