The easiest introduction to the world of wireless systems, WL-20 consists of a bug style transmitter and corresponding receiver, with a nominal operating range of 15m. Charging is done with a micro usb cord to a 5v adapter (not supplied but you usually have those lying around). You can use the switch to select OFF, SHORT (characteristics of a cable of approx. 3 meters), and LONG (characteristics of a cable of approx. 6 meters).

This can be an issue with low-end digital wireless units, which typically only have 3-4 channels to choose from. If these channels happen to be very heavily in use, then you may experience severe dropouts and interference when you least expect it. You can auto-select the best channel for the room, or if you want manually select the channel so that bands with multiple users can assign each player to their own specific channel, to avoid interference and crosstalk.The differences between the WL-20L and the WL-20 are the presence or absence of the CABLE TONE feature in the receiver, and the color of the receiver unit.
