Charlie first caught the weather bug in his early teens when he was watching thunderstorms from his bedroom window. Yes, a self-confessed weather geek from an early age sent him on his path to studying geography and meteorology at the University of Birmingham, before joining the Met Office in 2008. A warm, bulky, and durable boot built for a lifetime of Alaska-grade winters but that isn't light or comfortable enough for extended use or mobile activities When Aisling is not in the office she is busy running around after her two young boys who don’t seem one bit interested in the weather!

This highly durable boot is completely waterproof and great at insulating, though it's a bit too bulky to wear on low-snow days or during high-output activities In her spare time Amanda can be found down the local with her husband, or mixing house music...over the years she’s played in bars and clubs around the UK…although these days she’s more a bedroom DJ. Most of his time there was spent as a forecaster, with small stints as a press officer and digital marketer, but he ended up fully immersed briefing weather broadcasters and presenting a few videos.a b "Interview with Carol Kirkwood". After a series of internal moves, she presented short slots on BBC Radio Scotland, and then BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4. [4] Following her marriage to Jimmy Kirkwood, she left the BBC and subsequently worked in recruitment and then as a training consultant for a management consultancy in Cheshire. [2] [3] In 1992, she spent time on a now defunct cable TV channel, Windsor TV, latterly called Wire TV, along with Sacha Baron Cohen. Outside of work, Chris enjoys exploring new cities around the world, sailing, socialising with friends, and taking in the fresh air by the coast. He also loves eating out and trying new food, but regularly goes to the gym to compensate! It Ends With Us cast profiles: Who plays Atlas, Lily, & more? 9. Bri Winkler Bri Winkler's pictures. Photo: @Amanda Edwards, @abc7briwinkler (modified by author) Carol Kirkwood divorced her husband Jimmy Kirkwood in 2008 after nearly 20 years of marriage and is now in a new relationship which she keeps well under wraps. Among her other career highs are being the first person in the world to ride the Smiler roller coaster at Alton Towers, presenting from many farms with lots of naughty animals, modelling hats at Ascot, and presenting the weather with Steve Carell and Kermit the Frog.Amanda is also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher and is passionate about promoting mental wellbeing within local communities and newsroom environments. Chris is a local boy to the Anglia region, raised in Norwich, Norfolk. He’s always been interested in weather, ever since building his first rain gauge with his dad when he was six. But it wasn’t until high school that his passion for physical geography developed. Chris graduated from the University of Reading in 2012, joined the Met Office in Exeter and qualified as a meteorologist.

In 2012 Laura joined ITV Breakfast on Daybreak as Meteorologist and weather forecaster, keeping viewers up to date during some of the most severe weather we’ve ever seen, the wettest summer for 100 years, severe snow storms, Typhoon Haiyan and the wettest winter on record. Frequently recognised for her sunny “Bye Bye” sign-off, Emma is one of the longest serving weather presenters at ITV. She started as a colourful, quirky regular on national breakfast television, and has had her head in the clouds - and ITV Weather regions - since 1992, also presenting countryside programmes. Emma’s always had a keen interest in the weather, especially since she hails from the North West where there is rather a lot of it... She originally trained to be a vet, but side-stepped into TV. As she made the leap from vet to met, she found that working with exotic species gave her quite a good grounding for a career in television… she's taken part in some heart-stopping, daredevil features over the years. Emma has done every job behind the camera, and worked as a radio journalist before achieving her ambition of joining the ITV Weather team. Somewhat prophetically, her first ever radio report involved covering the hottest day of the year and frying an egg on the pavement – two of her favourite interests, weather and cooking! When she's not scratting around in the garden or the kitchen, this one-woman wildlife feeding station enjoys dinner and a musical, languages and observational comedy, reformer pilates - and when there’s time - sleeping.

In August 2015, it was announced that Kirkwood would be taking part in the thirteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, [8] which began in September 2015. She was partnered with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev. In a world of functional waterproofs in acid-bright colours, Seasalt’s beautifully designed coats in delicate, muted shades are a breath of fresh (sea) air. In June 2018 an opportunity arose to cross the bridge from being behind the camera to standing in front of it, and he’s loved being part of the West Country weather team ever since. Kirkwood rejoined the BBC at the corporation's Elstree Studios training department in 1993 as a freelance presenter, during which time she also presented a bi-monthly programme Talking Issues for HTV West. [4] In 1996 Kirkwood joined the new UK operation of The Weather Channel, but after it closed down she underwent training under the guidance of the BBC at the Met Office, before joining BBC News in April 1998 as a weather presenter. [4] She has since appeared regularly across all of BBC Weather's output on both radio and television, including BBC News, BBC World News, BBC News at Six and the live forecasts as part of the BBC's coverage of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Away from work his two young boys keep him busy, and with any free time left over he’s usually exploring the south west on foot and taking a few photographs. He can also serenade a (very) small audience on the piano or guitar, if you twist his arm.

That would be a resounding no! Carol has confessed she loves her BBC Breakfast job so much that would never consider leaving. She told mirror.co.uk: “I’d never give up the weather on Breakfast. If they showed me the door I would hang on by my fingernails! So, as long as Breakfast want me, I’ll be there because I love it.” Bri Winkler has a unique combination of intelligence and beauty. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marine and atmospheric science from the University of Miami. Bri Winkler began her anchoring career on KAMR-TV in Amarillo. She worked as a segment meteorologist. [ citation needed] She returned to full-time presenting early in 2008. Alex grew up in Bristol where he still lives today. As a child he spent a lot of time with his weather obsessed grandmother who sparked an interest in him from a young age. A few years on Alex developed an interest in the media and by chance an opportunity came up to combine his two interests at ITV West Country. Since 2005 Alex has been part of the weather team and his responsibilities also stretch across ITV Network Weather and Good Morning Britain. He’s also presented a number of weather documentaries on Channel 4. Alex also has a passion for current affairs and can be seen presenting ITV’s ‘Tonight’ programme. Many years later, she completed a Masters in Meteorology in UCD and then came to the UK to start a career as a weather forecaster with MeteoGroup UK. Three years later she retrained with the Met Office to become a low flying aviation meteorologist working alongside the RAF. Later she moved to the BBC where she worked as a forecaster and eventually a weather presenter for the BBC. She joined ITV in 2017 as a weather presenter for ITV Anglia and UTV.
