About this deal

The classic secretary-boss trope felt fresh under the pen of CM. She knows how to add little elements and great declarations to move along the plot. Regardless of the books being very similar, so much so that I have compiled a list of similar themes/kinks/affections, I still liked it. I like the premise of the series and I like the attitude of the characters. This one is about Luca and his secretary Valentina. They have been working together for eight years now, so when grandma Anne announces Luca will be the next in line to marry, he uses one convenient situation to persuades Valentina to marry him.

When Luca Windsor’s secretary suddenly quits her job shortly after his family forces him into an unwanted engagement, he sets out to solve both problems.Faye joins the incredible Windsor woman club with Raven and Valentina. I absolutely adored her. She went though a lot in this book and she handled everything with so much grace and class. I loved that we got to see a relationship with her and her sisters in law. This series is so good at showing friendship and familial bonds. I literally cannot say enough nice things about Faye. BEST FICTIONAL HUSBAND ALERT: 🆘 the hero was obsessed with his wife, but in a very productive, i-will-do-anything-to-make-her-happy kind of way. The length he went to protect her and make her happy and show his love for her made my heart melt 💘 I want Luca Windsor in my life 🥵

screaming crying shaking throwing up. This was my favorite book of January. I am feeling so many things. Full review to come but the Windsor family is the best fictional family I’ve ever read about I liked the hero for the most part. The praise kink (which is usually something I love) seemed a little off, like something was missing (maybe their chemistry/connection??), and the OW drama could have made the story more interesting, but it fizzled into nothing so I was left wondering what was the point. The heroine and her OM drama was probably what I found the most interesting. I was expecting her to be more conflicted so when she made her choice, it would be more definite but again, it kinda fizzled into nothing. To be honest, she seemed like the kind of person who would have been content with either choice 🤷‍♀️ And just when I again thought it couldn't get worse…He manipulated her into marrying him. The full picture of the situation is: Luca is engaged to another woman, chosen by his grandmother, and he doesn't want to marry her at all; and Valentina's grandmother—the most important person of her life—,who suffers from Alzheimer, goes missing and in a moment feeling desperate, Val begs for Luca's help, promising to do anything he wants in return. Only that he already had people looking for the elderly lady, but she didn't know that. So he took it as an opportunity to convince her to marry him, telling this is a way for him to escape a marriage that is condemned to never work and for her to have access to the best healthcare for her family. And that meddling grandmother, she better needs to have some good excuse for the all lives she’s destroying left and right.
