This vacuum cleaner really would have been perfect if they had given it a larger canister instead of only 0.8L. I did have to empty it quite a lot while I was cleaning (very fluffy dog), but it was worth it for that longer cord and the powered lift away. I like the 8 LED Headlights on the main DuoClean Floor Nozzle, they’re perfect for seeing under furniture and in low natural lighting conditions. The main floor nozzle also has an LED indicator, with a solid green LED meaning the brush rolls are on and working as they should. A solid red LED means there is a jam in the brush roll area and a flashing red LED is there to warn you that the Shark NV801UK is overheating and to turn it off and allow it to cool down. It has 750w of power, which is well within the EU regulations. Some feel that this impacts the cleaning power, but I strongly feel that they are wrong. At one end of the hair removal tool there’s a hook section that can slide through the groove on the brush roll and remove the clogged-up hair. The other end has a brush that can be used to clean the other areas of the brush rolls. The only improvement I would like to see here would be an integrated steel cutting blade instead of the plastic one which has been used, as this would make removing the tangled hair a lot easier. Powered Lift-Away goes one step further delivering power directly to the brush roll head even in Lift-Away mode. The direct power drives the brush roll to rotate, unlike other vacuums that rely on suction alone. DuoClean Floor Nozzle. The NZ801UKT is part of Shark’s DuoClean range. This refers to the floorhead, which has two motorised rotating brush rolls. The first is a softer brush roll that’s designed for hard floors, while the bristle brush is excellent for digging deeper into carpets. Pet hair is another area where the NZ801UKT excels. Many vacuums struggle with fur, but the DuoClean floorhead is brilliant at removing hair from carpets, while the turbo pet tool is just as effective at cleaning stairs or sofas. The handle is comfortable to hold, even during long cleaning sessions. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to adjust the height of the grip. This could be an issue if you’re taller or shorter than average, although for most people we think the handle is at a suitable position.
