Take a Number: While in a hospital waiting room, Mr. Bean does a number of nasty things to get a lower number. He gets his comeuppance in the end, though. Mind the Baby, Mr. Bean": As well as the Accidental Kidnapping plot of the baby's pram attaching itself to Mr Bean's car, Mr Bean later ties the pram to a convenient object at the funfair. Unfortunately, he has tied it to the moving part of a flying car ride, which flies into the air, taking the pram and the baby with it.

In Mr Bean in Room 426, Bean hides in a trunk, which is wheeled away by a hotel porter, and dropped down the hotel stairs. Censor Steam: Mr. Bean's crotch is hidden by bubbles when he takes a bath in "Mr. Bean in Room 426". Apathetic Citizens: Even when the citizens notice Mr. Bean's childishness and silliness, they don't usually care enough to call him out on it.One notable example is "Room 426" when Bean attempts to get past an old woman walking down the stairs by climbing through the outer side of the stairs and somehow doesn't notice an old man ahead until the old man is actually visible on the screen. This gets him trapped between the old man and the old woman, and while the gag works through a camera frame, it probably couldn't happen in real life. Everything Is an Instrument: In "The Return of Mr Bean", Mr Bean plays "Happy Birthday" to himself in a restaurant, by tapping the glasses and plates on the table, with some success.

Mr. Bean's grandfather dies on his 90th birthday in the diary, meaning he was born in 1903 and was around 52 when Mr. Bean was born.In Mr Bean: The Animated Series, Irma retains being Mr. Bean's girlfriend and made her debut in the episode Birthday Bear where she is seen coming upstairs to celebrate Teddy's birthday, to what Mr. Bean had forgotten about and leaves behind a card before storming off to only later return on the evening with her own stuffed bear named Lottie, where they all celebrate Teddy's birthday via eating a whole cake, playing multiple games and then watching a fireworks display through the window and seemingly forgives Mr. Bean for his forgetfulness by giving him a kiss on the cheek. Her most recent appearance is in A Car for Irma episode in October 2019. From 2002 to 2004, 52 episodes were originally broadcast on ITV1 each consisting of two 11-minute segments. In 2015, CITV commissioned a brand new series of episodes. [40] The new series amended the format in which it featured episodes that had much more dialogue than normal. 78 new episodes began broadcasting from 6 February 2015.

Mr. Bean is a British sitcom created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, produced by Tiger Aspect and starring Atkinson as the eponymous title character. The sitcom consists of 15 episodes that were co-written by Atkinson alongside Curtis and Robin Driscoll; the pilot was co-written by Ben Elton. The series was originally broadcast on ITV, beginning with the pilot on 1 January 1990 [1] and ending with " The Best Bits of Mr. Bean" on 15 December 1995. Victoria Ward (17 November 2012). The first episode is different from all that would follow right from the start, as it omits the usual 'falling from the sky' intro and choral theme song and instead simply begins with a subtitle and jaunty theme, though the standard intro is added on in later releases. In the exam scene, Bean speaks a couple of sentences to another student that are slightly wordier and more coherent (albeit still in a funny-sounding voice) than his usual mumbling. In the same episode, he drives an orange Mini instead of a green one, which he crashes during the credits, perhaps explaining why he probably gets a new Mini later on. In the Comic Relief sketch "Torville & Bean", Bean is accompanied by a female companion portrayed by Sophie Thompson whose overall appearance resembles Gobb's.

Hot Potato: In "Mind the Baby, Mr Bean", Mr Bean disposes of the baby's dirty nappy by leaving it on a fairground ride. When the ride starts moving, the nappy flies off, hitting somebody in the face, who throws the nappy away. It then ends up in the face of two more people on different rides, finally ending up over somebody's ice cream. [33] Mr. Bean also appeared in the music video for the Boyzone single " Picture of You", [34] which was the main theme song for the first film adaptation. Mr. Bean originally aired in the United Kingdom on ITV from 1990 to 1995, with reruns later shown on Comedy Central Extra, ITV3 and ITV4. Due to its widespread popularity, the series aired in many other countries; in the United States, it aired on HBO starting on 2 April 1992, [30] and also ran on PBS television stations across the United States. [31] Reruns of the series were also shown on Fox Family during the late 1990s, both as segments in the variety series Ohh Nooo! Mr. Bill Presents and as stand-alone episodes. Complexity Addiction: Many of Mr Bean's methods to solve simple problems fit this trope, such as transporting an armchair on the roof of his car, and driving the car from the chair.
