Currently, we have our fair share of pointless actions films (absent of any plot and decent script) or films that are trying to take themselves too seriously or films that are too dark and downbeat or films which try to be funny but are not so it was a pleasure to go with my family recently to see Last Holiday. Two years ago, Fran's sister Jenna disappeared on a wellness retreat in Gozo that went terribly wrong. And we have our third narrator, Kate. Kate is the organiser, business partner and the drive behind the retreats. She has held everything together and pushed on after the murder accusations ruined them financially.

Two years ago, Fran’s sister Jenna disappeared on a wellness retreat in Gozo that went terribly wrong. Georgia has always dreamed about a fabulous vacation in places she can't afford. That is why the Grand Hotel Pupp is the only place she even contemplates. Located in the Tyrolean Alps, it's a picture perfect place for the rich and famous and since Georgia has come with the idea of enjoying herself, she doesn't mind the expense. After all, she cashed in all her securities for this last fling. THE AUTHOR: Cally Taylor was born in Worcester and spent her early years living in various army camps in the UK and Germany. She studied Psychology at the University of Northumbria and went on forge a career in instructional design and e-Learning before leaving to write full time in 2014. She lives in Bristol with her partner and son.

Clever, twisty and increasingly chilling, HER LAST HOLIDAY had me totally gripped. C.L. Taylor is a master storyteller!‘– Rosie Walsh. Last Holiday wasn't quite the laugh out loud comedy I expected but it definitely was worth watching. It doesn't try to be complex but rather focus's on the main character, her caring attitude, and her adventures on her "Last Holiday." It makes for a cute, fun little movie without being too intelligent. It's just fun to watch.

Although Jenna and Fran are sisters, they are pretty different from each other. In my opinion, they are perfect for guiding us through this story. They are both are lost, both suppress their emotions, and both try to find a place in their lives. Fran is a woman with a strong personality who has been suppressing her emotions and distancing herself from other people for years. Jenna is a lost young woman trying to find her true self and understand who she is. The picture is completed by Kate, the wife of the man behind the retreat, who we suspect from the very beginning of evil intentions. But is it true? Good. Because . . .’ Fran shrugs off the rest of her sentence. Stella doesn’t need to know that she’s been reprimanded several times at work for saying something tactless to another member of staff. She doesn’t mean the words to come out the way they do but she can’t always stop herself. She does try though.I’m so happy this book put this brilliant author on my radar. I cannot wait to read the lord works of her. The story begins with a great dynamic and later in the story the tone and pace changes with many red herrings and secrets. I think to enjoy this story one hundred per cent you have to realise it's fiction so it doesn’t have to be believable!!! Unfortunately, I don’t think the second half is as good. The retreat events become rather longwinded and overlong and so it gets a bit dull. There are a lot of characters to get your head around too and some of them change their names which gets confusing. It’s the end though that I have the biggest problem with as it just doesn’t work for me. As the ‘string puller’ is revealed the motivation seems spurious and it feels implausible.
