His love for his family comes through clearly as well as the friendships and support he has received from the teams he works with. Along the way, he opens his man drawer, narrowly avoids disaster when his trousers fall down in front of three policemen and learns the hard way why he should always listen to his wife.

Simply the Best" comes to mind (RIP Tina) but you Michael make my life much happier by writing your books.Since then Michael has become one of the most successful comedians in the world, with his tours selling over four million tickets. The series was a huge success, receiving BAFTA nominations and winning the National Television Award for Best Entertainment Programme in 2012. Of course as we've seen things turn out great for him but there was a learning curve for him to see what worked and what didn't and as big as the highs were some of the lows shattered his confidence. It’s clear this is what he’s always wanted and worked hard for, and I’m so glad he’s managed to make a success out of what he loves, and why shouldn’t you celebrate the gains that come with that? I’m sure if you’re a fan you’d enjoy this but in my opinion like his stand up and TV shows I feel it’s overrated and overhyped.

What charities, how much do they raise, at what point do you know you are established enough to carry such a show? Lots of funny anecdotes that made me laugh out loud and a pleasant way to spend a few hours reading. He pushed Michael further and higher than he believed he could go and the love and appreciation Michael felt for him is very apparent. I love how he’s so open and honest about his almost crippling lack of self confidence and his fragility. Life has certainly been unusual, silly, and at times stressful for Michael, but above all it has been a funny life.He also recounts the highs and lows of his career (including the disappointment when his chat show bombed) with honesty and humour. It's all here, from his disastrous panel show appearances to his hit TV shows, from mistakenly thinking he'd be a good chat show host and talent judge, to finding fame and fortune beyond his wildest dreams and becoming the biggest-selling comedian in the world. I bought the first autobiography in print years ago, but the over-saturation of McIntyre made it find its way to the back of the shelves and then into loft boxes fairly quickly.
